2. Duties & Responsibilities
• Manage and control housekeeping desk.
• Co-ordinate with the front office for information on
departure rooms and handing over of clean rooms.
• Maintain good relationship with other department for
smooth functioning and efficiency.
• Receive complaints on maintenance and housekeeping.
• Maintain registers kept at the control desk.
• Act as a pivotal person in receiving and disseminating
information amongst housekeeping staff.
• Maintain the latest reports regarding room occupancy, VIPs,
status of rooms, and so on, so that work can be delegated
to attendants and supervisors accordingly.
• Attend to all phone calls received at the control desk.
• Responsible for guestroom keys given to room attendants
and to store the keys and maintain a key register.
• Collecting all messages from the hotel guests and passing
to the floor supervisor.
3. Skills and Quality
Should have good knowledge of Telephone etiquette.
Complete knowledge related rooms in hotel.
Good communication skills.
Problem solver.
Education
To become control supervisor you need to complete Hotel
management degree or Diploma in hospitality management.
Experience
You need to have 4-5 years work in hospitality management.
Then you will be become control desk supervisor.
5. Responsible for All Housekeeping staff,
Standard of work &
upkeep of Housekeeping
Equipment.
Co-ordinate with Food & Beverage
Manager, Front office
Manager, Night Manager
& Laundry Manager.
6. Duties & Responsibilities
• The Executive Housekeeper responsible for Organize,
supervise and coordinate the work of Housekeeping
personnel, on a day to day basis.
• Ensure excellence in Housekeeping sanitation, safety,
comfort and aesthetics for hotel guests.
• Draw up duty roaster and supervise the discipline and
conduct for his staff.
• Assure proper communication within the department by
conducting regular meetings with all personnel.
• Participate in all head department meetings.
• Hire new employees, warn employees when hotel policies
are violated and discharge employees when necessary.
• Counsel employees on various duties and on work related
issues.
• Motivate his staff and keep their morale high.
• Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures
(SOP) for cleaning and to initiate new procedure to
increase the efficiency of labor and product use.

8. Education
• Completion of secondary school is usually required.
• A university degree or college diploma in hotel
management or business administration is usually
required.
• Extensive experience as a cleaning supervisor may
substitute for formal education requirements.
• Knowledge of computers would be compulsory an
additionally qualification in interior designing would be
an advantage.
Experience
• Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience as a housekeeping
supervisor of which at least 2 to 3 years as an assistant
Housekeeper.
• Strong operation/Technical knowledge.
• Successful pre-opening experience and records a
distinct advantage.
9. Age Limit
• The age limit used to be a criterion for the post of
executive housekeeper but this factor no longer be
significant.
• Today there are successful executive housekeepers as
young as in their mid-20s.
10. Job title Guestroom Attendant
Reports to Floor supervisor( or the
night supervisor in case of
night room attendant).
11. Supervises Housemen & Trainees
Co-ordinate with Housekeeping Control
Desk, laundry, Room
service, Engineering
12. Duties & Responsibilities
• Clean and tidy rooms as per the sanitary regulations
assigned.
• Change guestroom and bathroom linen.
• Make guestroom beds.
• Replenish guest supplies.
• Be responsible for getting guest laundry processed.
• Hand over lost and found articles to Supervisor.
• Report missing or broken hotel property to the floor
supervisor.
• Maintain a polite, dignified and helpful attitude towards
the guests.
• Replenish maid’s cart/maid’s trolley with guest supplies,
detergents and linen
• Change the water glasses daily and fill the water flasks.
• Attend daily briefing.
• Turn down beds in the evening and draw the curtains.
• Count soiled linen and hand over to laundry and count the
fresh ones.
13. Skills and Quality
• They have ability to work flexible working hours.
• Should be able to converse in English.
• Experience using heavy cleaning equipment and cleaning
products.
• They should physical mobility and stamina.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Professional and polite
• Sharp memory and right attitude has advantages.
Education
• Intermediate or high school preferred
• Sometime the room attendant not even educated but they
are little bit trainee for work in Housekeeping.
Experience
• Previous guest service and housekeeping experience.
