Survey Analysis
Our Survey
We created our survey so that we can get a general idea of what sort of thing people
like to see which we would then incorporate into our own products we make. In doing
so we asked questions on the following areas:
 Music Video
 Advertisement
 Digipak/Album Covers
These answers have allowed us to figure out what would and wouldn’t work in our
stuff.
Question 1
 This question shows that almost 90% of people watch
their videos on YouTube, this tells us that people only
will know what this video is of we show it on a
platform which everyone will see
 This also allows the video to be seen by people who
are just browsing on YouTube and come across the
song, maybe even drawing them into the band
 However, some people also seem to watch it on
music channels on the TV, this shows us how some
people don’t rely on YouTube and will only see it if
it’s popular enough to be on the television
Question 2
 We asked this question so that we can get an idea
of what type of music video people like to watch,
we had many responses to this and this is just a
couple.
 The wide variety of genres here still give off the
same conventions in each video regardless of the
genre.
 We will use this information to help us decided
which shot and editing styles to use in out own
music video
Question 3
 We asked this question so that we can have an idea
of what people like to see in their music videos, this
will help us know what kind of thing we should
include in our own video.
 From this I can see that the majority of people like to
see a story based video with an appearance from the
band which is what we will also be basing our video
as.
 This had helped us to understand that our idea was
on the right track in terms of what we wanted to do
Question 4
 We asked this question to see if our audience
would actually enjoy to seeing our band in the
video. Although it’s an requirement we can still
see how much of the band to put in depending
onw hat the research says
 From the answers we can see that people like to
see the interaction between the band and them
within the video
Question 5
 The next set of questions were used to see what we
could include in our digipak. This will help us to know
what sort of things to put in, however when we
actually make our digipak we will have to consider
different things that may affect what we put on.
 We can see that most people do enjoy seeing
pictures, especially of the band. We will definitely
show the band within the digipak and also have some
other band photos. However for other things like the
message from band and credits might go on the DVD
extra
Question 6
 We have done this alongside the other question
because we may have an idea which isn’t normal for
other bands, this will give us guidance to how we can
make our idea work to a standard that people will
enjoy
 We can see that people like to see the usual
conventions within the digipak, we will try to include
everything that is mentioned on the question
Question 7
 We decided to ask about the colour scheme to see
what would attract the attention of our audience
the most. However although we have done this we
will still have to do this to consider the style of the
band and what suits them
 Our audience has shown us that they like to see
bright and bond colours the along with colours that
compliment each other.
 Using bright and bold colours show is how the
band is fun so we will use this, we will also be able
use this in forest will all of the autumn leaves
Question 8
 For our DVD we needed to know in case we
wanted to put the contents on the back side of
the digipak along with the track listing. This
would also go on the advertisement
 We can see that people like a little bit of
everything that is listed. We can include all of
these things but we won’t have to make them,
some of the options also overlap so we can
include everything that people have requested
Question 9
 Our final two questions are for the advertisement,
we have asked to see what people like to see on
the advert so we can plan to see what we are
going to add onto it
 We can see that people would like to see quite a
lot on the advert rather than having it very simple.
We can use this so show all the information that
couldn’t be included on the digipak cover that
people wanted to see.
 We will also have to consider what people want the
background of the cover to be
Question 10
 The final question was to see what people wanted to
look at. The general view was to keep the same
photo which was used on the album cover onto the
advertisement. This has helped us to see that we
don’t have to use as many pictures as we originally
thought
 A lot of the answers are also use of the information
which was in questiob 9

Survey analysis

  • 2. Our Survey We created our survey so that we can get a general idea of what sort of thing people like to see which we would then incorporate into our own products we make. In doing so we asked questions on the following areas:  Music Video  Advertisement  Digipak/Album Covers These answers have allowed us to figure out what would and wouldn’t work in our stuff.
  • 3. Question 1  This question shows that almost 90% of people watch their videos on YouTube, this tells us that people only will know what this video is of we show it on a platform which everyone will see  This also allows the video to be seen by people who are just browsing on YouTube and come across the song, maybe even drawing them into the band  However, some people also seem to watch it on music channels on the TV, this shows us how some people don’t rely on YouTube and will only see it if it’s popular enough to be on the television
  • 4. Question 2  We asked this question so that we can get an idea of what type of music video people like to watch, we had many responses to this and this is just a couple.  The wide variety of genres here still give off the same conventions in each video regardless of the genre.  We will use this information to help us decided which shot and editing styles to use in out own music video

Question 3  We asked this question so that we can have an idea of what people like to see in their music videos, this will help us know what kind of thing we should include in our own video.  From this I can see that the majority of people like to see a story based video with an appearance from the band which is what we will also be basing our video as.  This had helped us to understand that our idea was on the right track in terms of what we wanted to do
  • 6. Question 4  We asked this question to see if our audience would actually enjoy to seeing our band in the video. Although it’s an requirement we can still see how much of the band to put in depending onw hat the research says  From the answers we can see that people like to see the interaction between the band and them within the video
  • 7. Question 5  The next set of questions were used to see what we could include in our digipak. This will help us to know what sort of things to put in, however when we actually make our digipak we will have to consider different things that may affect what we put on.  We can see that most people do enjoy seeing pictures, especially of the band. We will definitely show the band within the digipak and also have some other band photos. However for other things like the message from band and credits might go on the DVD extra
  • 8. Question 6  We have done this alongside the other question because we may have an idea which isn’t normal for other bands, this will give us guidance to how we can make our idea work to a standard that people will enjoy  We can see that people like to see the usual conventions within the digipak, we will try to include everything that is mentioned on the question
  • 9. Question 7  We decided to ask about the colour scheme to see what would attract the attention of our audience the most. However although we have done this we will still have to do this to consider the style of the band and what suits them  Our audience has shown us that they like to see bright and bond colours the along with colours that compliment each other.  Using bright and bold colours show is how the band is fun so we will use this, we will also be able use this in forest will all of the autumn leaves
  • 10. Question 8  For our DVD we needed to know in case we wanted to put the contents on the back side of the digipak along with the track listing. This would also go on the advertisement  We can see that people like a little bit of everything that is listed. We can include all of these things but we won’t have to make them, some of the options also overlap so we can include everything that people have requested

Question 9  Our final two questions are for the advertisement, we have asked to see what people like to see on the advert so we can plan to see what we are going to add onto it  We can see that people would like to see quite a lot on the advert rather than having it very simple. We can use this so show all the information that couldn’t be included on the digipak cover that people wanted to see.  We will also have to consider what people want the background of the cover to be
  • 12. Question 10  The final question was to see what people wanted to look at. The general view was to keep the same photo which was used on the album cover onto the advertisement. This has helped us to see that we don’t have to use as many pictures as we originally thought  A lot of the answers are also use of the information which was in questiob 9
