Complex Supreme Sold Out Documentary
Analysis
Main Poster
• The use of iconography (money) which is highly
associated with the Resale Market and it is the main
factor of the poster to show how influential it is and
the amounts of money circulated in this industry
• The use of the Supreme font for the phrase ‘Sold
Out’ and the shopping bag which are recognisable
to the audience which could potentially draw
attention to the urban audience and understanding
before the consumption of the documentary
• The subtopic “ The Underground Economy Of
Supreme Re-Sellers” has been typed in a small font
and this shows the stigma around the industry
• Also the money has replaced the actual clothing and
this connotes that the resale market destroys the
appreciation of the brand and focuses it on the
money only
• The high key lighting used for the poster connotes
that Complex plan to enlighten people on the
‘Underground Economy’ which seems to have an
enigma about it
Ideas to take forward
• We intend on using iconography that is associated with the brands we
will document such as the clothing, the accessories and the various
things used to trade for the hope in owning any of these brands (being
Supreme and Palace)
• As years have gone by I believe that people are started to tolerate or
appreciate the industry because Supreme and Palace continue to release a
limited amount of products so it’s a really helpful thing. With that being
said , we want to make the poster contain a person/people to show the
decreased level of anonymous business
• On our poster we may possibly use both the clothing and the money used
in the industry to bring back the appreciation of the brands rather than
just the money
• As a group we’ve decided to focus on 2 leading skate/streetwear brands
rather than just 1 and we will have to integrate the two in the poster and
also show the competition between the two
