2. PURPOSE.
• There are multiple purposes of my magazine: to inform promote and entertain.
• One of the main ones is to inform my audience of new productions within the genre
like Marvel, and smaller production companies around north London.
• I will promote and advertise these smaller films and production companies within
north London, which will help them gain popularity for their production and start
gaining a bigger audience.
• Finally, I will entertain my audience by creating content that is entertaining for my
audience.
3. FORM, GENRE AND PRICE.
• There are going to be two main form of my magazine: Physical and online.
• There will be a physical copy, available in supermarkets. It will be available for £3.99,
making it affordable for everyone.
• There will be an online copy, included in a subscription, for £40 per year. Within the
online copy there will be, exclusive issues with actors and delivery straight to your
door.
• I will be focusing on an action genre as it is hugely popular within the north London
community. The increase in popularity makes it an ever-expanding market to go
into.
4. TARGET AUDIENCE.
• My magazine will be gender inclusive, by making gender inclusive content, I
broadens my audience and can increase audience.
• I will target ages 10-40. This will help gain audiences who grew up with the big
comics and follow these new films.
• I will need to target lower into middle classes. This is because they are the two
classes that follow these films more. By including the map of local cinemas, with
price ranges and having the magazine at an affordable price (£3.99) will appeal to
both these classes.
5. CONTENT.
• Within the magazine, I will include interviews with lead actors of films, directors and
producers of big and small films.
• I will include maps of areas in north London of cinemas showing action films, with
pricing to accommodate all my target audiences to find the best, local and price
effective cinema.
• Another bit of content I will include is auditions for action films in the north London
areas.
• I will advertise for two streaming services Amazon Prime and 123-stream, where
readers can watch the films and series advertised.
6. RESOURCES AND PERSONNEL.
• For my project I will need to use lots of different resources and personnel
to successfully complete the project. I will include:
• Cameras.
• Editors.
• Clothing.
• Fashion designers.
• Graphic Designers.
• Printing.
• Computers (IOS).
• Photoshop and other necessary software.
7. PERSONNEL.
• I will use lots of different personnel to help create my magazine.
• I will need editors to edit my pictures and start to create the project. They will edit
all the photos and back drops for the magazine.
• I will need graphic designers to design the magazine and think about layout of the
pages.
• I will need fashion designers to be able to dress actors and producers for
photoshoots.
• I will hire all my designers from north London and independent contractors.
8. DISTRIBUTION AND MARKETING.
• I will start distribution on social media. I will begin advertising on social media
websites like Twitter and Instagram.
• I will begin selling physical copies in big supermarkets such as Sainsburys and
Tesco's, this will mean that I can start gaining attention from a wide range of
audiences. I will also sell them at corner shops to make them even more successful
and help support, small local business.
• I will offer coffee shops, doctors and dentists free copes to keep their customers
entertained.
• The final stage of distribution is sending it to customers with the subscription's door.
This will allow for a more personal feel towards customers and will allow for
increased customer satisfaction.
9. COMPETITION.
• Film magazines are incredibly competitive market. There are magazines that
dominate the market such as Empire or Sight and sound. These magazine will prose
a problem as they have attracted brand loyal customers.
10. FONTS.
• A big part of my magazine will be my fonts for my Masthead, coverline and body
copy.
• For my masthead I will use the font. This font is very blocky will
stand out on a shelf.
• My cover line will use the font this resembles the fonts
that were used in popular action comics and will be nostalgic for older audiences
who grew up with the comics.
• The body copy I am going to use is Calibri, I have chosen this font for my body copy,
as it is very recognizable to everyone, and easy to read for long paragraphs.
12. COLOUR SCHEME AND MOOD BOARD.
• I have chosen a dark colour scheme to reflect the traditional dark plots in action.
There will be a big influence of the colour red.
