PROFESSIONAL WORK EXPERIENCE
U.S. ARMY – 27 Years of Active Military Service
Company First Sergeant - (Iraq, Afghanistan, and Fort Campbell, KY)
Served as a First Sergeant for a multi-functional Forward Support Company in a rapidly
deployable Forward Support Battalion for an Infantry Brigade that included a Distribution
Platoon, Maintenance Platoon, and a Food Service Section consisting of 127 Soldiers; assisted
the commander in planning, coordinating, and supervising all logistical activities that support an
entire Infantry Battalion of 900 personnel; advised the commander on enlisted Soldier matters to
include duty assignments, promotions, military justice, awards, moral, welfare, professional
development, and equal opportunity concerns; assisted the commander in property accountability
of over $27,000,000 worth of equipment. Consistently doing risk assessments and job hazard
analysis to ensure the safety of all personnel. Worked one pay grade down in this position and
was chosen over others with more seniority because of leadership capabilities to lead the
company, in order to help facilitate the company’s readiness for an upcoming deployment.
2. U.S. ARMY – 27 Years of Active Military Service
Food Service Manager and Supervisor - (Iraq, Afghanistan, and Fort Campbell, KY)
With deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq I was assigned as a Contracting Officer’s Technical
Representative (COTR). Worked side by side with the FLUOR and KBR Afghan and Iraqi
Nationals to ensure all policies and safety procedures were followed as well as inspecting the
facility. I was responsible for the feeding of over 1,300 personnel at three different locations
within a 50 mile radius. At this location I was also in charge of a warehouse that I created in
order to facilitate the food demands. Safety enforcement is a genuine concern for all my
personnel’s welfare which resulted in no personal injury throughout that 14 month deployment
due to incorporating and implementing a safety program, which included doing risk assessments
and job hazard analysis. While at Fort Campbell I trained, managed, and evaluated a diverse staff
of 105 employees, and accurately determined food requirements for three daily meals. Managed
a yearly budget worth over $780,000, and managing loss prevention. Meticulously maintained
accountability and maintenance of food service equipment valued at over $900,000.
Communications Platoon Sergeant - (Fort Campbell, KY)
Trained and managed a 12 man team in a communications platoon within an Airborne Long
Range Surveillance Detachment. Was instrumental in disseminating information and
maintaining accountability for recorded communications. Held many positions within this unit,
one of them being the unit’s Strategic Deployment/Unit Movement Planner which was the
logistical mover of all of unit’s equipment, and the other being a jumpmaster. These appointed
jobs incorporated a high level of safety and risk management, which had several key elements of
safety protocol that had to be followed to ensure the safety of both personnel and equipment.
