Simply, it is necessary to be open to change the way that
meetings are conducted in your organization. The power is
within you, whether you are a meeting leader or a participant.
You may even need to take on a leadership role to make your
meetings work better.

problems in business meeting.

agenda
A lot of meetings start with no clear sense of
purpose. The meeting’s agenda can be summarized
on a handout, written on a whiteboard or discussed
explicitly at the outset, but everyone should know
why they’ve gathered and what they’re supposed to
be accomplishing.

6. 2. Start and
end on time
If you announce the length of the meeting and then stick to
it, fewer participants will keep looking at their watches, and
more participants will take an active role in your meetings. A
definitive end time will help ensure that you accomplish
what’s on your agenda and get people back to their work
promptly.

7. 3. End with and
action plan
Leave the last few minutes of
every meeting to discuss the next
steps. This discussion should
include deciding who is
responsible for what, and what
the deadlines are. Otherwise, all
the time you spent on the
meeting will be for naught.
