packets; assembly of new client files; execution of procedures for Project Understanding Stigma including
conducting phone surveys about mental health stigma and client diagnosis data collection from mental health
clinics; scale development project including literature analysis, item development, and item analysis and
revision.

Intern in an Assault Care Center. Responsibilities: Certified Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence Victim
Counselor; served as a client advocate during 8 hour shifts, processed client intakes, phone calls in Crisis
Line and assisted with clients’ needs in shelter; conducting exit surveys for Rapid Rehousing Program:
collected information on current living situation of past clients to evaluate efficacy of the program. Principal
achievements: Certified Sexual Assault/Domestic Violence Victim Counselor after the completion of a 32-
hour training certification under Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Facilitated weekly recitation sessions about culture, well-being, academics, and adjustment to the US to a
group of twelve students.

Research Assistant in Culture and Evidence-Based Practice Laboratory. Responsible for entry, cleaning and
merging of data; organizing patient clinical files; Woodcock-Muñoz Language Survey (WMLS) scores, and
perfectionism scales. Principal achievements: collaboration as an author in a manuscript on the potential
moderating role of Perfectionistic Self-Presentation in the relationship between Sociocultural Pressure to be
Thin and Depression in adolescents; collaboration as first author in a poster on the potential role of gender
as a moderator in the relationship between Perfectionistic Self-Presentation and Suicidal Ideation and
Behavior in low-income Latino youth. Poster was submitted for review to the Society for Research on
Adolescence (SRA) and selected for presentation at the 2016 SRA Biennial Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland.
