Researcher 2014-Present
Conducted graduate school wide study on mentorship practices including
data collection, survey development, interviews and regression analysis.
Also currently, constructing a literature review for a paper on variables that
influence self-rated mental health scores.

Developed polling and other statistical measures for measuring success of
new educational techniques in social sciences at Kennesaw State

Founder ofMICSUN 2010 – 2011
Founded the non-profit Miami Invitational Conference for the
Simulation of the United Nations, for South Florida high school
students. Developed it from conception to first conference. Dealt with
million dollar insurance negotiations, small budget, and left it in great
financial shape.

UNPUBLISHED PAPERS
“They (Blacks) Just Don’t Get It”:
How We Understand Racialized Eventsin a Colorblind Nation”
This was a qualitative research paper that used interviews and text
analysis to understand how those who identified as colorblind handled
cognitive dissonance when being confronted by racialized protests. 2015
“Measuring Absence”
This paper was a methods statement on current frameworks in racial
studies that sought to compare different levels of analysis for the concept
of colorblind ideologies. It included model comparisons and innovations
on current scalar measures. 2014
“Morality in Madness:
Virginia, Western State Insane Asylum, and Mental Illness during the Civil War”
This paper was an historical paper that utilized archival and other primary
source data to construct social differences in the understanding of mental
illness throughout the Civil War and the different ways the Union and
Confederate forces treated the mentally ill. This is also a study of some of
the first and oldest mental institutions in the United States. 2014
