Blindness
Third month’s activities have been completed to our school! On 9th
and 20th January, we had our 2 first meetings for blindness. Children
were very excited for all activities. Firstly, we made a brainstorming for
the term blindness and we read the fairytale "Moza, the cat" about blind
people. Then, we played a game that was one student's idea. The game
was "Guess what???". Students had their eyes closed and they were
trying to guess what the object was. They used their hands and their
hearing...Also, we watched a video on youtube about blindness and daily
skills https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXDhutx5YsA. Finally, we
learned basic rules for Braille writting and we wrote our names!!! On 28th
January we completed the subject of blindness making some activities.
The first activity was about giving directions to someone who is blind. We
made a fake minefield and the task was to give directions to the other
protecting him/her not to put his/her feet on the mines. The second
activity was "Guess who am I?". Students tried to guess using the sense
of touch who their partners was. Children understood that when we are
blind we can use other senses to complete our lacks. We had so much
fun!!!
