▪ Prepare thesis outline - Break the thesis into chapters; list the major sections in each
▪ Discuss with your supervisor
▪ Prepare a chapter outline

14. Materials and Methods
▪ Detailed methodology used to conduct the analytical, statistical, numerial,
experiment
▪ Draw in flowchart and explain
▪ Discuss about the tools/ materials which you are using

▪ All data should be tabulated/graph
▪ Figures can quickly convey the findings
▪ Figure caption
▪ Figure label in horizontal and vertical with units
▪ Compare the results

16. Discussion section
▪ Communicate the findings
▪ Interpret the results
▪ How this results filled your gap and how advanced your area of research
▪ Take main points from results to discuss

▪ Write the strongest statement from your observations
▪ Tell the problem , by using the methodology, how you solved

18. Figures and Tables
▪ The Quality of the Figure should be 300 DPI
▪ The figure and table caption should be relevant to the figure and table
▪ Check the earlier submitted thesis for fig or figure…
▪ Add more information in any scheme images
▪ Draw figure using PPT or Inkscape

19. Chapters
▪ The flow of chapter should be properly established
▪ If Chapter 2, figure should be “Fig. 2.1”, similar to table
▪ After every chapter at last summary should be included
▪ Proper numbering

Trove is a search portal provides searching, browsing, and access to digital documents, including ETDs produced in
Australia. It provides access to over 106,665+ theses & dissertations submitted to Australian universities.

▪ Diss Online- German Universities
Diss Online an EDT created & supported by Deutsche National Bibliothek (DNB) (German National Library)covering
bibliographic records submitted to German universities.
▪ Ethos: Electronic Theses Online Service (British Library. UK)
A platform to access theses submitted by most of the UK higher education institutions. Ethos serves as an index to 300,000+
theses for free and order full text quickly and easily. Electronic Theses Online Service (Ethos) offers free access to the
limited number of full text of theses.
▪ Hong Kong Institutional Repositories
Provides access to thesis submitted to universities in Hong Kong.
