SBIHM Skill Initiative :
SBIHM, a luminary in the field of education, capacity building and workforce
development is proud to work in Skill Development, focused on imparting demand
driven job- oriented courses in schools.
Job Oriented Skill Training : Overview
Keeping in view economic development, the need to exploit the demographic dividend
and the lessons learnt in vocational education and training initiatives , the Government
of India has formulated Mission in 2009 and drawn a detailed roadmap for skill
training of 500 million of the population by 2022. In view of that , the Mission is
required to ensure active participation of all including private sector to give special
training to young men & women , workers and technicians towards meeting domestic
as well as global skill needs.
SBIHM has joined such a nation building activity and skill progression.
Why Does Youth Need Skill Training ?
Skill training enhances employability, links with industrial productivity and
improving the quality of life
There is a need to address “Skill Gap” in students of today, who will be employees
and entrepreneurs of tomorrow other than respected citizens of India.
It is no secret that the “Skill Gap” is marked as the main obstacle in the area of
‘Entry Level Employment’. This is a reality in spite of the availability of high
intelligence, sincerity and considerably good academic records. Therefore, Skill
enhancement for entry level employment is the need of the hour. 4

5. We plan to start the training of 100 students from Arunachal Pradesh in the first phase
for Degree course and follow it up immediately with approximately another 100
students in the second phase, We will provide comprehensive training and quality
education so as to enhance the employability of students or add to self-employment
potential for students of the North-East.
Who are the beneficiaries ?
Till date, more than 4945 young students of various schools and colleges were
transformed from students to professionals for serving Hospitality Sector. The
