2.3 Company location and facilities:
Ideal Coaching Classes will be located in the city limits of Lucknow. It will start its
business in the Hazratganj market, which is one among the popular shopping areas
in the city that reflects a classy look with lots of high class shops and offices. The
coaching will maintain a high degree of professionalism. Ideal Coaching Classes
will provide Model Test Papers, Notes of various subjects etc. to its student. It will
serve students by providing the students better infrastructure i.e. clean & hygienic
class rooms, comfortable furniture, facility of RO water and airy atmosphere.
Ideal Coaching Classes will be focused in providing the best teaching facility. It will
maintain special attention towards each and every student so that their problem can
be solved by our teachers as early as possible.
3.0 Services
18
Ideal Coaching Classes will offer its students the best education service in the city.
This will be achieved by using high-quality professional teaching methodology. We
will provide the education service for various subjects, these are as follows:
✔ Science,
✔ Mathematics,
✔ Commerce and
✔ English
Our resources include collections of prior exam questions from each of the subjects
stated above with extensive experience reviewing testing patterns. Students are
provided with study strategies to help them better focus their personal study time to
better prepare for upcoming exams.
Students are encouraged to review exam results to see where they still have room
for improvement. Experience has shown that many of the professors in the local
programs use exams more for teaching tools than evaluation tools. Review of exams
are therefore helpful in grasping concepts needed on future exams as well as gauging
progress in the course. In Ideal Coaching Classes private teaching sessions are also
available, as well as small group study sessions? Students are encouraged to come
prepared with questions and items to discuss. Students are also encouraged to ask
questions from our teacher throughout the week in between sessions. Questions are
submitted and answered via email. While this takes up time for Ideal Coaching
Classes and is not directly billed out, it is a value added service for all students.
Ideal Coaching Classes will employ the Systematic Analysis Framework Method
(SAFM), a problem solving method that students can apply to a wide range of
subjects and problems. SAFM provides the students with the necessary tools to solve
the problem at hand, but also empowers them with a systematic approach to solving
future issues. This unique approach does not just address the current question the
student has, but provides them a problem solving method for all conceivable
19
difficulties. SAFM is quite effective at lowering a student’s anxiety when faced with
new subjects because they then have a method of approach that they can use to assist
them.
3.1 Competitive comparison:
Since Ideal Coaching Classes is not a new coaching institute in education sector,
there is already previously existing coaching institute may be organized or
20
unorganized, operating in the city. They will create tough competition for Ideal
Coaching Classes to enter in the market. It would be tough task for us to penetrate
them; but through our strategic planning we can make room for ourselves. The main
competitors for Ideal Coaching Classes in the city might be Srijan Classes, Bright
Coaching, Pioneer Coaching, Shishir Sir Classes, Dhananjay Chemistry Classes,
Drona Classes, Challenger’s Point etc.
4.0 Market Analysis Summary
Education sector in the city of Lucknow has shown the steady growth in the past few
years. In this respect, Ideal Coaching Classes will founded for providing coaching
21
classes to the students from various schools of the city in the quantitative and non-
quantitative subjects. This remains the core segment, although other segments have
been developing and show potential to provide the bulk of future income. Students
can be divided into two groups: quantitative subjects/students and non-quantitative.
In this sense Ideal Coaching Classes can get a large number of student from class 9th
to 12th
as here are many student from class 9th
to 12th
learning in various schools of
the city. Ideal Coaching Classes will offer coaching classes to the student for the
selected subjects which they also learn in their schools.
The following sections describe the market segmentation, strategies, and industry
analysis.
4.1 Market segmentation:
Ideal Coaching Classes will founded for delivering better educational services
through coaching to the students in their quantitative and non-quantitative subjects.
It will our core segment, although other segments have been developing and show
22
potential to provide the bulk of future income. As the students are divided into two
groups: quantitative subjects/students and non-quantitative. Here we can say that
along with categorization of students in quantitative and non-quantitative student,
we can include sub-category also as per their subject’s viz. Science, Mathematics,
English and Commerce.
❖ Quantitative subjects: Under this category we include those subjects or
students who are basically enroll in Ideal Coaching Classes for the coaching
of Mathematics, Commerce (Accounts) and Science (Physics & Chemistry)
etc.
❖ Non-quantitative subjects: Under this category we include those subjects or
students who are basically enroll in Ideal Coaching Classes for the coaching
of various non-quantitative subjects such as English, Commerce (Business
organization and Banking), and Science (Biology).
4.2 Target market segment strategy:
The target market of Ideal Coaching Classes will be the student from class 9th
to 12th
.
We had conducted a survey in the past few months ago, to know about the
23
availability of the student in Lucknow city from class 9th
to 12th
for those subjects in
which Ideal Coaching Classes will deal with.
The main objective behind the survey is to know about the availability of the student
as well as existing coaching institute also. Where we found that there are a large
number of students exists in the city from class 9th
to 12th
. And depending upon the
number of student the coaching institutes are still very short.
This means if Ideal Coaching Classes starts; it will be a great opportunity for us that
we can get a good strength of students initially for our batches. Based on survey we
can assume that, in starting we can get a lump sum total of 200 students. This figure
will increase in year by year gradually. The demand for this coaching can only
increase considering the rise in competition, population, and income for education
purpose. The fast pace world, increasing competition day by day force student to
get quality education which enables them to make their dreams come true.
4.3 Service market analysis:
Ideal Coaching Classes will be in a unique position of its core competence. It would
be easy for us to penetrate those coaching institutes which are operating in organized
sector but it would be difficult for us in reducing competition from those who are
24
working in unorganized sector such as home tutor etc. Besides this coaching will be
provide classes around as long as students. And as long as students get in over their
head, they will need coaching to help them catch up and keep up with their
classmates. Some materials just need to be explained in different ways for them to
make sense. However, while the need for coaching classes exists, the bulk of
teaching services taking place in the market is very limited and unorganized. What
sets this company apart is its experience and the attention paid to individual needs
of students.
4.4 Competition and Buying patterns:
Coaching institutes are tends to be a group of individuals with a little extra time and
specific expertise in a given subject/topic. However, few have the resources to
provide a comprehensive coaching program covering every possible aspect of a
course from understanding the material, to getting the best grade possible from a
25
given teacher. The majority of competition comes from one-on-one teaching
conducted by friends of the student. There is no organized teaching service available
to the students that really covers their specific course from soup to nuts.
Now, while one-on-one teaching from a friend may be a cheaper way for a student
to go, there really is an advantage to paying for teaching. The teaching sessions
include examples that have been tried and tested previously with prior students. Over
that time, Ideal Coaching Classes will develop a repertoire of examples and
approaches to help students with nearly all of the challenges that prevent them from
getting the most out of the experience.
Ideal Coaching Classes’s approach is different. Students are better able to see
various topics when isolated temporarily in a very simplified manner before placing
them back into context. So, students are introduced to a very simplistic teaching
approach or technique.
This is just one technique that will be developed successfully over several years that
sets Ideal Coaching Classes’s coaching sessions apart from other options.
After each exam, students are encouraged to bring in their exams to be reviewed.
The collection of exams over the years provides the coaching services with a number
of examples for use in coaching session and to better prepare students for upcoming
tests.
Similarly, over the years, certain handouts will have been prepared to help and teach
students particular principles. These are accumulated and updated occasionally as
needed. Students who are enrolled in coaching sessions have full access to several
years’ worth of materials. The cost to the company to provide these materials is very
low because they will have been developed from time to time over the years when a
need arose. Although some investment of time will require to produce them, it is an
overhead cost and can be spread out over several years for as long as the handout
remains current or useful.
26
One challenge that the coaching institute faces is the cyclical nature of demand.
Students tend to seek coaching more when an exam is looming. Because of its
experience in the school and its understanding of when exams will be coming up,
topics of discussion for coaching classes can be planned and students can be
encouraged to keep their studies on a more even track. The focus is on prevention of
problems so that last-minute cramming is kept to a minimum.
Finally, the services offered by the Ideal Coaching Classes are differentiated from
competitors by the quality.
5.0 Strategy and Implementation Summary
Ideal Coaching Classes coaching institute will leverage its competitive edge to gain
market share. These advantages offer students significant value including:
individualized and group teaching, specialized handout material, teaching specific
to courses etc, the ability for the service to explain difficult concepts using easy-to-
27
understand ideas and examples. The last advantage, the Systematic Analysis
Framework Method (SAFM) provides students with a problem solving approach that
is useful to the current question as well as being applicable to all of the student’s
other courses.
The marketing strategy will seek to work closely with the different teachers. This
will help Ideal Coaching Classes to get a steady stream of referrals from the teachers.
The marketing strategy will also rely on print advertising, taking the form of student
newspaper advertisements as well as targeted flyers submitted to students and posted
in student areas.
The sales strategy will be the process of converting potential students into existing
students. One facet of this strategy is the offering of periodic free sessions. The free
session are designed to be an introduction of Ideal Coaching Classes’s new students
who are unsure if they will benefit from coaching. Ideal Coaching Classes expects
to have a high conversion rate into students from these free sessions.
28
5.1 Competitive edge:
There are no other coaching institutes providing the specialized and targeted services
to the target market. This gives Ideal Coaching Classes an edge that will help it to
survive for some time to come. The experience with and knowledge about each of
the professors and their courses gives the company an ability to provide specialized
services that no one else can compete with on anywhere near the same level.
Moreover, the service is further differentiated by the following items:
1. Separate batches facility, based on personalized evaluation of each student
and his or her specific needs and strengths. This takes into account the
recognition that students learn in various ways, some students learn visually,
others orally. Ideal Coaching Classes first evaluates each student and their
best way of learning and tailors the teaching to most effective serve each
student. Such as we might launch a club batch where most talented student
will be enroll from several other batches from our coaching, and they will get
special attention and preparation to crack exams. But this will add after we
ensure that we are able to perform well our competitive edge among our
competitors.
2. The option of one-on-one coaching or review sessions offered to small groups
(enough students so they can learn from each other, but not so many that it
becomes confusing and distracting in the session).
3. Specialized handouts will be prepare over several years of teaching.
4. Experience best explains difficult concepts and knowledge of what works best
with certain types of students. Sessions can be focused to better meet the needs
of individual students.
5. Systematic Analysis Framework Method (SAFM) will be applied to all
coaching. SAFM is a system where each student is taught to properly
approach any type of problem with a systematic method that provides them
29
with the tools of handling problems with a formal problem solving technique,
empowering the student to be able to learn more on their own. This is in
contrast with most other coaching institutes which assist the student with
specific problems or questions. This is short sighted as it only addresses the
difficulty at hand, it does not assist the student with problem solving
techniques that provide students with tools to assist them in the future with
unforeseen problems.
5.2 Marketing strategy:
30
The real key to this business is staying ahead of the changing student roster. It is
important to get out and get seen by all of the incoming students. The marketing
strategy will incorporate a networking focus where the Ideal Coaching Classes is in
close contact with the teachers. This allows the company to be quite familiar with
the material the various teachers are teaching. It also provides the teachers with an
opportunity to offer referrals to Ideal Coaching Classes for students that need
additional assistance that the school cannot provide.
5.3 Advertising strategy:
31
The advertising strategy of Ideal Coaching Classes will consist of:
✔ Place advertisements in newspapers and also in 7x8 inches yellow or white
papers inside the newspapers. These advertisements will be effective due to
their low cost and targeted readership. Students are the almost exclusive
readers of the newspapers and when they found these advertisement inside the
newspapers they will also read these yellow papers along with the newspaper
and then Ideal Coaching Classes will get considerable visibility.
✔ Ideal Coaching Classes will use wall writing mode of advertising also as this
mode is very cost effective and has its long lasting effect.
✔ Ideal Coaching Classes will also enjoy the word of mouth referrals as the
student sells the advantages of the institute to their friends or potentials
students/clients.
✔ Lastly, upon permission from the various schools, Ideal Coaching Classes will
disperse flyers into student’s mailboxes, communicating to the students the
various services Ideal Coaching Classes offers and why it stands out in terms
of effectiveness relative to the competition. These flyers will also be posted
on various bulletin boards within the student areas.
5.4 Promotion strategy:
32
Promotion refers to using methods of communication with two objectives: (i)
informing the potential students about the services, and (ii) to persuade students to
avail that service. It is an important element of marketing mix. In the absence of
communication, students may not be aware about the coaching and its potential to
satisfy their needs and desires.
▪ In our promotion strategy we will go to the various schools, meet the students
in person and communicate them about our classes, timings and pricing so
that they come to know about our offers and may be our customers/students.
This may be our inaugural strategy.
▪ Except meeting from students in their school; Ideal Coaching Classes will get
in touch with the students virtually also, whether the student has enrolled
yourself as our student or not. For connecting the students virtually we will
take the help of various social networking sites and mobile apps so that we
can make communication with the students on coaching’s behalf. These social
networking sites and mobile apps are Facebook, Twitter, What’s app, Hike
and others. Ideal Coaching Classes will be its own page on Facebook and
Twitter, the students may like us on Facebook and may follow us on Twitter.
And Ideal Coaching Classes will also available on Whats app and Hike also
as group, student can join the group and avail the services of Ideal Coaching
Classes on these apps and sites. On these sites an app we will provide all the
information about Ideal Coaching Classes and learning material of it (some
hand out, notes or model papers). Today, every person/student are using
mobile phones whether it is their self or their parent. So, this service can avail
by the students easily.
33
▪ Along with the strategy stated above, Ideal Coaching Classes may organize
various seminar and webinar time to time. These activities also may be the
part of promotional strategy of the institute.
34
5.5 Strategic advantages:
From a business perspective, Ideal Coaching Classes will have various strategic
advantages over others which will help it in achieving its vision and mission. Some
of them are as following:
First, on being our own premises for coaching it will be profitable for us as we will
have not to incur expenses on payment of rent. As it result in saving of huge amount
of money over coming years.
Second, Ideal Coaching Classes will offer coaching services for both Hindi &
English medium and students of all boards (U.P. Board, CBSE & ICSE) so that our
coaching can easily make its presence for every student.
Third, since this coaching will offer classes from class 9th
(generally from class 9th,
students enroll their self as the student of a coaching institute) and for a wide range
of subjects. So that it will beneficial and comfortable for a student to get classes of
various subjects under one roof and remain our student from class 9th
to 12th
.
Forth, Ideal Coaching Classes will receive the advantage of core competence in
offering organized coaching classes for Commerce subject, as there is no coaching
institute offering coaching classes for this subject in the Lucknow city. By doing so
the students of commerce side will get the ease of understanding the various concept
of Accountancy, Economics etc.
35
5.6 Sales strategy:
The bulk of sales come from word of mouth. When new students come into the
school, the upperclassmen tell them about the resources/coaching available. So past
students provide most of the advertising for the company. Getting seen and getting
the word out to new students is always important. One important message to convey
is that the coaching services are not just for slow students who are having a hard
time keeping up, but for anyone who wants an edge and to get the most out of their
learning experience. Through our sales strategy we may allow some discount to the
student who have enrolled with us for more than 2 subjects.
Ideal Coaching Classes will develop and maintain revenues of past student/clients
for a sales pitch indicating just how helpful Ideal Coaching Classes has been to the
students. Ideal Coaching Classes will periodically offer a free session, typically in
the beginning of the school term. The goal of this session is to provide qualified
leads with an opportunity to experience Ideal Coaching Classes and view for
themselves how effective the service can be. This sales event will be able to convert
many possible students into paying students, people that possibly would not have
even considered a coaching service, not previously recognizing their own need for
such a service. After the free session many “doubters” will be converted into
students.
36
5.7 Pricing Strategy:
Pricing strategy refers to the methods that companies use to price their product or
services. Almost all companies large or small, base the price of their products and
services on production, labor and advertising expenses and then add on a certain
percentage so they can make profit. There are several different pricing strategies;
such as Penetration Pricing, Price Skimming, Discount Pricing, PLC Pricing,
Premium Pricing and Competitive Pricing.
✔ Ideal Coaching Classes will follow Penetration Pricing for Mathematics,
Commerce English & Science subjects from class 9th
to 12th
because it will
have to make a room for itself among different competitors.
✔ The pricing strategy may change according to situation over the years.
37
5.8 Sales Forecast:
The sales forecast has been developed to predict future sales in a conservative
manner. It is expected that sales will gradually increase as more students are served
and the company receives more revenues. We are assuming that our coaching
institute can achieve a growth rate of 10% per annum as well as revenue from various
classes and subjects will also increase; and in a time span of 3 to 4 years it may
become the most successful coaching institute of Lucknow. At some point, capacity
will be reached in terms of the number of hours worked per week. From this point
forward there will be an emphasis of serving groups which provide more revenue
per hour.
Assumptions: The following assumptions are made. By keeping this in our mind
the students strength and fees charged by other coaching institutes providing the
same services, the sales forecast of Ideal Coaching Classes will be evaluated:
o Ideal Coaching Classes will get 200 students in its first year from class 9th
to
12th
learning in various schools.
o The class wise distribution of student from class 9th
to 12th
are 23%, 24%, 26%
& 27% respectively.
o The growth in the number of student will be 10% p.a.
o The fees of every subjects in different class will be increase every year @15%
per annum.
o Inflation rate will not affect more the emoluments of staff. Although there is
10% increase in their remuneration.
o We are assuming a student enrolled for Science in Class 11th
& 12th
are
collectively assumed as enrolled for Physics and Chemistry.
o The student may get some deduction in his fees if he enroll him in Ideal
Coaching Classes as a student of two or more subjects.
38
o The percentage distribution of students enrolling their selves for various
subject in different classes of Ideal Coaching Classes will be:
Subject % of student % of student % of student % of student
Mathematics 22 22 15 16

55
8.3 Ratio Analysis:
The financial viability of Ideal Coaching Classes can be judge on the basis of various
ratios, underlined below:
● Profitability Ratios:
The profitability ratios measure the profitability or the operational efficiency of the
firm. There are two groups of persons who may be specifically interested in the
analysis of the profitability of the firm. These are (i) the management which is
interested in overall profitability and operational efficiency of the firm and (ii) the
equity shareholders who are interested in the ultimate returns available to them.
Since, Ideal Coaching Classes is a sole proprietorship firm so there is not any outside
equity share holder involved who take its interest in the returns of Ideal Coaching
Classes. Only management has its interest in overall profitability of the firm.
The Profitability Ratios are as following:
⮚ Net Profit Ratio = PAT/ Net fees received*100
Year 1 = 6.37%
Year 2 = 15.21%
Year 3 = 22.82%
On the basis of net profit ratio we can say that the coaching has its significant stake
as net profit in the total fees received by it in the entire.
This percent is increasing in the subsequent years gradually.
56
⮚ Admin. Exp. Ratio = Admin. Exp./ Net fees received*100
Year 1 = 7.07%
Year 2 = 5.87%
Year 3 = 4.87%
The percentage of administrative expenses in the fees collected by it is very low.
And it is decreasing down in the coming years, So we can say that it will profitable
for the coaching as the percentage increase in the Admin. Exp. is quite lower than
the percentage increase in the Net fees received.
⮚ Profit Before Tax Ratio = PBT/ Net fees received*100
Year 1 = 9.22%
Year 2 = 22.02%
Year 3 = 33.03%
The PBT Ratio is also better as the part of profit (before tax) in total fees received is
high and it is growing every year.
57
● Leverage Ratios:
The debt position of a firm indicated the amount of loans and borrowing used in
generating profits. If the resources raised from debts earn more than the cost of these
funds, then the surplus ultimately belongs to the equity shareholders. The more the
debt a firm uses, the higher is the profitability that the firm may be unable to fulfill
its commitments towards the debt lenders.
Since, Ideal Coaching Classes is a sole proprietorship firm so whichever the surplus
generated by it will belongs to its management after paying the cost of surplus.
The Leverage Ratios are as following:
⮚ Debt-equity ratio = Long term debt/ Owner’s equity*100
Year 1 = 46.51%
Year 2 = 31.00%
Year 3 = 15.51%
The debt-equity ratio is average in the first year which indicates that the firm is not
losing its profitability and since this ratio is going down in the coming years, shows
that it the firm has to pay less as the cost of it surplus and more profit will belong to
it.
⮚ Total-debt Ratio = Total debt/ Total assets*100
Year 1 = 20.18%
Year 2 = 8.07%
Year 3 = 2.61%
58
The above ratios shows that in the first year the firm has very low part of debt
involved in its assets and this ratio is going down in the coming years.
59
9.0 Future Plans
The future plans of Ideal Coaching Classes will depend upon the growth and profit
making position of it. But we have decided future plans which will execute further
by adding more services in coming years.
The future plan of it consist of:
▪ Launch coaching classes for undergraduate courses and preparation of various
entrance exams.
▪ Offer online coaching classes facility.
Ideal Coaching Classes may launch coaching classes for undergraduate courses such
as B.Sc., B.Com. And classes for preparation of CPT, CAT, Medical, and
Engineering entrance exams. It will also employ Smart Class Facility for its student;
so that our teacher can easily teach students and make them clear about their topics.
By doing this, students can enjoy technology based learning and easily understand
various concepts.
It may offer coaching classes at online platform also. So that the students can enjoy
coaching classes form their home without coming into the coaching premises. For
this purpose Ideal Coaching Classes either make available its teachers on an
educational website or start its own website where students can learn by our teachers
virtually by paying a nominal fees. This service will help to those students who are
physically challenged or who does not want to come into the coaching.

  • 18. 18 Ideal Coaching Classes will offer its students the best education service in the city. This will be achieved by using high-quality professional teaching methodology. We will provide the education service for various subjects, these are as follows: ✔ Science, ✔ Mathematics, ✔ Commerce and ✔ English Our resources include collections of prior exam questions from each of the subjects stated above with extensive experience reviewing testing patterns. Students are provided with study strategies to help them better focus their personal study time to better prepare for upcoming exams. Students are encouraged to review exam results to see where they still have room for improvement. Experience has shown that many of the professors in the local programs use exams more for teaching tools than evaluation tools. Review of exams are therefore helpful in grasping concepts needed on future exams as well as gauging progress in the course. In Ideal Coaching Classes private teaching sessions are also available, as well as small group study sessions? Students are encouraged to come prepared with questions and items to discuss. Students are also encouraged to ask questions from our teacher throughout the week in between sessions. Questions are submitted and answered via email. While this takes up time for Ideal Coaching Classes and is not directly billed out, it is a value added service for all students. Ideal Coaching Classes will employ the Systematic Analysis Framework Method (SAFM), a problem solving method that students can apply to a wide range of subjects and problems. SAFM provides the students with the necessary tools to solve the problem at hand, but also empowers them with a systematic approach to solving future issues. This unique approach does not just address the current question the student has, but provides them a problem solving method for all conceivable
  • 19. 19 difficulties. SAFM is quite effective at lowering a student’s anxiety when faced with new subjects because they then have a method of approach that they can use to assist them. 3.1 Competitive comparison: Since Ideal Coaching Classes is not a new coaching institute in education sector, there is already previously existing coaching institute may be organized or
  • 20. 20 unorganized, operating in the city. They will create tough competition for Ideal Coaching Classes to enter in the market. It would be tough task for us to penetrate them; but through our strategic planning we can make room for ourselves. The main competitors for Ideal Coaching Classes in the city might be Srijan Classes, Bright Coaching, Pioneer Coaching, Shishir Sir Classes, Dhananjay Chemistry Classes, Drona Classes, Challenger’s Point etc. 4.0 Market Analysis Summary Education sector in the city of Lucknow has shown the steady growth in the past few years. In this respect, Ideal Coaching Classes will founded for providing coaching
  • 21. 21 classes to the students from various schools of the city in the quantitative and non- quantitative subjects. This remains the core segment, although other segments have been developing and show potential to provide the bulk of future income. Students can be divided into two groups: quantitative subjects/students and non-quantitative. In this sense Ideal Coaching Classes can get a large number of student from class 9th to 12th as here are many student from class 9th to 12th learning in various schools of the city. Ideal Coaching Classes will offer coaching classes to the student for the selected subjects which they also learn in their schools. The following sections describe the market segmentation, strategies, and industry analysis. 4.1 Market segmentation: Ideal Coaching Classes will founded for delivering better educational services through coaching to the students in their quantitative and non-quantitative subjects. It will our core segment, although other segments have been developing and show
  • 22. 22 potential to provide the bulk of future income. As the students are divided into two groups: quantitative subjects/students and non-quantitative. Here we can say that along with categorization of students in quantitative and non-quantitative student, we can include sub-category also as per their subject’s viz. Science, Mathematics, English and Commerce. ❖ Quantitative subjects: Under this category we include those subjects or students who are basically enroll in Ideal Coaching Classes for the coaching of Mathematics, Commerce (Accounts) and Science (Physics & Chemistry) etc. ❖ Non-quantitative subjects: Under this category we include those subjects or students who are basically enroll in Ideal Coaching Classes for the coaching of various non-quantitative subjects such as English, Commerce (Business organization and Banking), and Science (Biology). 4.2 Target market segment strategy: The target market of Ideal Coaching Classes will be the student from class 9th to 12th . We had conducted a survey in the past few months ago, to know about the
  • 23. 23 availability of the student in Lucknow city from class 9th to 12th for those subjects in which Ideal Coaching Classes will deal with. The main objective behind the survey is to know about the availability of the student as well as existing coaching institute also. Where we found that there are a large number of students exists in the city from class 9th to 12th . And depending upon the number of student the coaching institutes are still very short. This means if Ideal Coaching Classes starts; it will be a great opportunity for us that we can get a good strength of students initially for our batches. Based on survey we can assume that, in starting we can get a lump sum total of 200 students. This figure will increase in year by year gradually. The demand for this coaching can only increase considering the rise in competition, population, and income for education purpose. The fast pace world, increasing competition day by day force student to get quality education which enables them to make their dreams come true. 4.3 Service market analysis: Ideal Coaching Classes will be in a unique position of its core competence. It would be easy for us to penetrate those coaching institutes which are operating in organized sector but it would be difficult for us in reducing competition from those who are
  • 24. 24 working in unorganized sector such as home tutor etc. Besides this coaching will be provide classes around as long as students. And as long as students get in over their head, they will need coaching to help them catch up and keep up with their classmates. Some materials just need to be explained in different ways for them to make sense. However, while the need for coaching classes exists, the bulk of teaching services taking place in the market is very limited and unorganized. What sets this company apart is its experience and the attention paid to individual needs of students. 4.4 Competition and Buying patterns: Coaching institutes are tends to be a group of individuals with a little extra time and specific expertise in a given subject/topic. However, few have the resources to provide a comprehensive coaching program covering every possible aspect of a course from understanding the material, to getting the best grade possible from a
  • 25. 25 given teacher. The majority of competition comes from one-on-one teaching conducted by friends of the student. There is no organized teaching service available to the students that really covers their specific course from soup to nuts. Now, while one-on-one teaching from a friend may be a cheaper way for a student to go, there really is an advantage to paying for teaching. The teaching sessions include examples that have been tried and tested previously with prior students. Over that time, Ideal Coaching Classes will develop a repertoire of examples and approaches to help students with nearly all of the challenges that prevent them from getting the most out of the experience. Ideal Coaching Classes’s approach is different. Students are better able to see various topics when isolated temporarily in a very simplified manner before placing them back into context. So, students are introduced to a very simplistic teaching approach or technique. This is just one technique that will be developed successfully over several years that sets Ideal Coaching Classes’s coaching sessions apart from other options. After each exam, students are encouraged to bring in their exams to be reviewed. The collection of exams over the years provides the coaching services with a number of examples for use in coaching session and to better prepare students for upcoming tests. Similarly, over the years, certain handouts will have been prepared to help and teach students particular principles. These are accumulated and updated occasionally as needed. Students who are enrolled in coaching sessions have full access to several years’ worth of materials. The cost to the company to provide these materials is very low because they will have been developed from time to time over the years when a need arose. Although some investment of time will require to produce them, it is an overhead cost and can be spread out over several years for as long as the handout remains current or useful.
  • 26. 26 One challenge that the coaching institute faces is the cyclical nature of demand. Students tend to seek coaching more when an exam is looming. Because of its experience in the school and its understanding of when exams will be coming up, topics of discussion for coaching classes can be planned and students can be encouraged to keep their studies on a more even track. The focus is on prevention of problems so that last-minute cramming is kept to a minimum. Finally, the services offered by the Ideal Coaching Classes are differentiated from competitors by the quality. 5.0 Strategy and Implementation Summary Ideal Coaching Classes coaching institute will leverage its competitive edge to gain market share. These advantages offer students significant value including: individualized and group teaching, specialized handout material, teaching specific to courses etc, the ability for the service to explain difficult concepts using easy-to-
  • 27. 27 understand ideas and examples. The last advantage, the Systematic Analysis Framework Method (SAFM) provides students with a problem solving approach that is useful to the current question as well as being applicable to all of the student’s other courses. The marketing strategy will seek to work closely with the different teachers. This will help Ideal Coaching Classes to get a steady stream of referrals from the teachers. The marketing strategy will also rely on print advertising, taking the form of student newspaper advertisements as well as targeted flyers submitted to students and posted in student areas. The sales strategy will be the process of converting potential students into existing students. One facet of this strategy is the offering of periodic free sessions. The free session are designed to be an introduction of Ideal Coaching Classes’s new students who are unsure if they will benefit from coaching. Ideal Coaching Classes expects to have a high conversion rate into students from these free sessions.
  • 28. 28 5.1 Competitive edge: There are no other coaching institutes providing the specialized and targeted services to the target market. This gives Ideal Coaching Classes an edge that will help it to survive for some time to come. The experience with and knowledge about each of the professors and their courses gives the company an ability to provide specialized services that no one else can compete with on anywhere near the same level. Moreover, the service is further differentiated by the following items: 1. Separate batches facility, based on personalized evaluation of each student and his or her specific needs and strengths. This takes into account the recognition that students learn in various ways, some students learn visually, others orally. Ideal Coaching Classes first evaluates each student and their best way of learning and tailors the teaching to most effective serve each student. Such as we might launch a club batch where most talented student will be enroll from several other batches from our coaching, and they will get special attention and preparation to crack exams. But this will add after we ensure that we are able to perform well our competitive edge among our competitors. 2. The option of one-on-one coaching or review sessions offered to small groups (enough students so they can learn from each other, but not so many that it becomes confusing and distracting in the session). 3. Specialized handouts will be prepare over several years of teaching. 4. Experience best explains difficult concepts and knowledge of what works best with certain types of students. Sessions can be focused to better meet the needs of individual students. 5. Systematic Analysis Framework Method (SAFM) will be applied to all coaching. SAFM is a system where each student is taught to properly approach any type of problem with a systematic method that provides them
  • 29. 29 with the tools of handling problems with a formal problem solving technique, empowering the student to be able to learn more on their own. This is in contrast with most other coaching institutes which assist the student with specific problems or questions. This is short sighted as it only addresses the difficulty at hand, it does not assist the student with problem solving techniques that provide students with tools to assist them in the future with unforeseen problems. 5.2 Marketing strategy:
  • 30. 30 The real key to this business is staying ahead of the changing student roster. It is important to get out and get seen by all of the incoming students. The marketing strategy will incorporate a networking focus where the Ideal Coaching Classes is in close contact with the teachers. This allows the company to be quite familiar with the material the various teachers are teaching. It also provides the teachers with an opportunity to offer referrals to Ideal Coaching Classes for students that need additional assistance that the school cannot provide. 5.3 Advertising strategy:
  • 31. 31 The advertising strategy of Ideal Coaching Classes will consist of: ✔ Place advertisements in newspapers and also in 7x8 inches yellow or white papers inside the newspapers. These advertisements will be effective due to their low cost and targeted readership. Students are the almost exclusive readers of the newspapers and when they found these advertisement inside the newspapers they will also read these yellow papers along with the newspaper and then Ideal Coaching Classes will get considerable visibility. ✔ Ideal Coaching Classes will use wall writing mode of advertising also as this mode is very cost effective and has its long lasting effect. ✔ Ideal Coaching Classes will also enjoy the word of mouth referrals as the student sells the advantages of the institute to their friends or potentials students/clients. ✔ Lastly, upon permission from the various schools, Ideal Coaching Classes will disperse flyers into student’s mailboxes, communicating to the students the various services Ideal Coaching Classes offers and why it stands out in terms of effectiveness relative to the competition. These flyers will also be posted on various bulletin boards within the student areas. 5.4 Promotion strategy:
  • 32. 32 Promotion refers to using methods of communication with two objectives: (i) informing the potential students about the services, and (ii) to persuade students to avail that service. It is an important element of marketing mix. In the absence of communication, students may not be aware about the coaching and its potential to satisfy their needs and desires. ▪ In our promotion strategy we will go to the various schools, meet the students in person and communicate them about our classes, timings and pricing so that they come to know about our offers and may be our customers/students. This may be our inaugural strategy. ▪ Except meeting from students in their school; Ideal Coaching Classes will get in touch with the students virtually also, whether the student has enrolled yourself as our student or not. For connecting the students virtually we will take the help of various social networking sites and mobile apps so that we can make communication with the students on coaching’s behalf. These social networking sites and mobile apps are Facebook, Twitter, What’s app, Hike and others. Ideal Coaching Classes will be its own page on Facebook and Twitter, the students may like us on Facebook and may follow us on Twitter. And Ideal Coaching Classes will also available on Whats app and Hike also as group, student can join the group and avail the services of Ideal Coaching Classes on these apps and sites. On these sites an app we will provide all the information about Ideal Coaching Classes and learning material of it (some hand out, notes or model papers). Today, every person/student are using mobile phones whether it is their self or their parent. So, this service can avail by the students easily.
  • 33. 33 ▪ Along with the strategy stated above, Ideal Coaching Classes may organize various seminar and webinar time to time. These activities also may be the part of promotional strategy of the institute.
  • 34. 34 5.5 Strategic advantages: From a business perspective, Ideal Coaching Classes will have various strategic advantages over others which will help it in achieving its vision and mission. Some of them are as following: First, on being our own premises for coaching it will be profitable for us as we will have not to incur expenses on payment of rent. As it result in saving of huge amount of money over coming years. Second, Ideal Coaching Classes will offer coaching services for both Hindi & English medium and students of all boards (U.P. Board, CBSE & ICSE) so that our coaching can easily make its presence for every student. Third, since this coaching will offer classes from class 9th (generally from class 9th, students enroll their self as the student of a coaching institute) and for a wide range of subjects. So that it will beneficial and comfortable for a student to get classes of various subjects under one roof and remain our student from class 9th to 12th . Forth, Ideal Coaching Classes will receive the advantage of core competence in offering organized coaching classes for Commerce subject, as there is no coaching institute offering coaching classes for this subject in the Lucknow city. By doing so the students of commerce side will get the ease of understanding the various concept of Accountancy, Economics etc.
  • 35. 35 5.6 Sales strategy: The bulk of sales come from word of mouth. When new students come into the school, the upperclassmen tell them about the resources/coaching available. So past students provide most of the advertising for the company. Getting seen and getting the word out to new students is always important. One important message to convey is that the coaching services are not just for slow students who are having a hard time keeping up, but for anyone who wants an edge and to get the most out of their learning experience. Through our sales strategy we may allow some discount to the student who have enrolled with us for more than 2 subjects. Ideal Coaching Classes will develop and maintain revenues of past student/clients for a sales pitch indicating just how helpful Ideal Coaching Classes has been to the students. Ideal Coaching Classes will periodically offer a free session, typically in the beginning of the school term. The goal of this session is to provide qualified leads with an opportunity to experience Ideal Coaching Classes and view for themselves how effective the service can be. This sales event will be able to convert many possible students into paying students, people that possibly would not have even considered a coaching service, not previously recognizing their own need for such a service. After the free session many “doubters” will be converted into students.
  • 36. 36 5.7 Pricing Strategy: Pricing strategy refers to the methods that companies use to price their product or services. Almost all companies large or small, base the price of their products and services on production, labor and advertising expenses and then add on a certain percentage so they can make profit. There are several different pricing strategies; such as Penetration Pricing, Price Skimming, Discount Pricing, PLC Pricing, Premium Pricing and Competitive Pricing. ✔ Ideal Coaching Classes will follow Penetration Pricing for Mathematics, Commerce English & Science subjects from class 9th to 12th because it will have to make a room for itself among different competitors. ✔ The pricing strategy may change according to situation over the years.
  • 37. 37 5.8 Sales Forecast: The sales forecast has been developed to predict future sales in a conservative manner. It is expected that sales will gradually increase as more students are served and the company receives more revenues. We are assuming that our coaching institute can achieve a growth rate of 10% per annum as well as revenue from various classes and subjects will also increase; and in a time span of 3 to 4 years it may become the most successful coaching institute of Lucknow. At some point, capacity will be reached in terms of the number of hours worked per week. From this point forward there will be an emphasis of serving groups which provide more revenue per hour. Assumptions: The following assumptions are made. • 55. 55 8.3 Ratio Analysis: The financial viability of Ideal Coaching Classes can be judge on the basis of various ratios, underlined below: ● Profitability Ratios: The profitability ratios measure the profitability or the operational efficiency of the firm. There are two groups of persons who may be specifically interested in the analysis of the profitability of the firm. These are (i) the management which is interested in overall profitability and operational efficiency of the firm and (ii) the equity shareholders who are interested in the ultimate returns available to them. Since, Ideal Coaching Classes is a sole proprietorship firm so there is not any outside equity share holder involved who take its interest in the returns of Ideal Coaching Classes. Only management has its interest in overall profitability of the firm. The Profitability Ratios are as following: ⮚ Net Profit Ratio = PAT/ Net fees received*100 Year 1 = 6.37% Year 2 = 15.21% Year 3 = 22.82% On the basis of net profit ratio we can say that the coaching has its significant stake as net profit in the total fees received by it in the entire. This percent is increasing in the subsequent years gradually.
  • 56. 56 ⮚ Admin. Exp. Ratio = Admin. Exp./ Net fees received*100 Year 1 = 7.07% Year 2 = 5.87% Year 3 = 4.87% The percentage of administrative expenses in the fees collected by it is very low. And it is decreasing down in the coming years, So we can say that it will profitable for the coaching as the percentage increase in the Admin. Exp. is quite lower than the percentage increase in the Net fees received. ⮚ Profit Before Tax Ratio = PBT/ Net fees received*100 Year 1 = 9.22% Year 2 = 22.02% Year 3 = 33.03% The PBT Ratio is also better as the part of profit (before tax) in total fees received is high and it is growing every year.
  • 57. 57 ● Leverage Ratios: The debt position of a firm indicated the amount of loans and borrowing used in generating profits. If the resources raised from debts earn more than the cost of these funds, then the surplus ultimately belongs to the equity shareholders. The more the debt a firm uses, the higher is the profitability that the firm may be unable to fulfill its commitments towards the debt lenders. Since, Ideal Coaching Classes is a sole proprietorship firm so whichever the surplus generated by it will belongs to its management after paying the cost of surplus. The Leverage Ratios are as following: ⮚ Debt-equity ratio = Long term debt/ Owner’s equity*100 Year 1 = 46.51% Year 2 = 31.00% Year 3 = 15.51% The debt-equity ratio is average in the first year which indicates that the firm is not losing its profitability and since this ratio is going down in the coming years, shows that it the firm has to pay less as the cost of it surplus and more profit will belong to it. ⮚ Total-debt Ratio = Total debt/ Total assets*100 Year 1 = 20.18% Year 2 = 8.07% Year 3 = 2.61%
  • 58. 58 The above ratios shows that in the first year the firm has very low part of debt involved in its assets and this ratio is going down in the coming years.
  • 59. 59 9.0 Future Plans The future plans of Ideal Coaching Classes will depend upon the growth and profit making position of it.
