To whom it may concern
MALCOM THOMSEN
To whom it may concern.
As the Environmental Superintendent for Leighton Contractors (LCPL) I have had the pleasure of working with one of our
most active health safety and environmental (HSE) representatives, Malcom Thomsen, for close to two years on
Chevron's Gorgon Project on Barrow Island.
During this time Malcom has shown a high level of initiative for both environmental and safety matters. This has been
demonstrated by continually taking responsibility for chemical management for four disciplines across one third of the site
(approx. 350 personnel).
He is proactive in his approach, operates with integrity and has a strong sense of pride in his work. These qualities have
made the management of environmental matters so successful in LCPL’s highest risk work area (within the marine
environment) on this Class A Nature Reserve.
Malcom's effective communication skills, not only with his peers, but also with senior management, is key to what has
made his time on the project so successful. His ability to build a strong rapport with all those he interacts with enables
him to positively influence those around him.
He is an asset to every team he is part of and he has greatly assisted the work that my team and I do on one of
Australia's largest resource projects.
I highly recommend Malcom for any future work as he will continue to excel in whatever he puts his mind to.
