4. Tannins are polyphenolic
substances found in many plants product of
higher molecular weight, but < 500
(According to lipinski's rule of five).
They are soluble in dilute alkalis, alcohol,
glycerol and acetone, but only sparingly
soluble in other organic solvents and non-
crystallisable compounds.
Tannin classified mainly two types, these
are true tannin and pseudo tannins.
5. Plants contain many active compounds that
are used in APIs (active pharmaceutical
ingredients).
White catechu is a type of plant that contains
tannin, a phytochemical class.
This plant contains mainly two active
compounds: catechins and quercetin.
Black catechu is approximately same as the
white catechu.
6. Nutgall is a type of plant that contains
tannin, a phytochemical class.
This plant contains mainly gallotannic
acid (tannic acid).
Gallotannic acid can converts into
Gallic acid.

7. Quercetin
Quercetin is lipophilic and can cross
blood brain barrier.
Quercetin has many pharmacological
activity.
PubMed has 26,518 results about this.
