Reinventing The Wheel at apex Door Company
Q1) what do you think of Apex's training process? Could it help to
explain why employees “do things their way”? If so how?
The training process of Apex is not professionaldesigned, which is very clear from
the attitude of its employees. The employees should be given effective trainings,
so that the quality of work can be improved. Itis the responsibility of the senior
management to introduceat least a training manual that would help the
employees in managing their roles and responsibilities accordingly.There is Lack
of master training plan .There are many inexperienced trainers.
1. Trainer teaches in his own way as the job description is improper.
2. Training is same at every level and there is no change and some of the
trainings methods are outdated.
3. Employee’s shows lack of interest at work because of no motivation.
4. There are no outcomes measures to determine if the training was
successful.
5. Lack of Professionaltrainers and new training techniques.
Q2) what role do job descriptions play in training?
Hiring employees without a written job description can lead to reduced
productivity when the new hires are unprepared for their duties and require extra
training to fulfill their jobs An accuratejob description not only aids a successful
company in recruitment, but also in training. Hiring a person who is ill equipped
to handle the position can be overcomewith accurate and efficient training as in
the caseof Apex Company.

Q3) Explain in detail what would you do to improve the training
process at Apex?
Improvement in Apex case must start with managementrecognizing and
accepting that they have problem with training.
I will establish a formal training program i.e. establishing a HR department by
hiring a professional training staff and providing class room based instruction on
the nature of the industry and skill based instruction, and practical training
methods. I will also implement a probationary period where i will weed out the
unsuccessfultraining candidates in order to save the company’s labor costin long
run. I will involve the employees into decision-making process.I will design some
motivational programs for the employees so they can work in the company with
more productivity.
