2. Here are some ways to plant and propagate
ornamental plants in a scientific way. Usually,
there are in the forms of cuttings, seedlings, and
bulbs and tubers:
3. 1. Cuttings- are pieces of stem, leaf, or root that
has been removed from a plant to produce new
roots. Plant the rooted cuttings in a pot of moist
soil and set in a cool place.
4.
5. 2. Seedlings- are small young plants grown from
seeds. They should be kept from too much sun
exposure and strong winds, and placed in partly
shady, sheltered spots. Transplant them after one or
two weeks.
6.
7. 3. Layering- means treating a shoot (a branch,
stem, or twig) or forming new roots while still
attached to the mother plants. This is the best
way to propagate shrubs and vines.
8.
9. 4. Bulbs and tubes- are underground leaf buds or
roots. These are planted by separating or dividing the
clumps of bulbs. When leaves of bulbs turn yellow,
that is the time to dig and transplant them.
