THE 1975-
GIRLS
MISE EN SCENE- PROPS AND
SET DESIGN
This initial prop is extremely simplistic but effective, it also
falls into colour scheme nicely.
THIS IS THE SECOND SHOT WHICH SHOWS
SOME PROPS OF FLOWERS SPELLING OUT
“GIRLS” WHICH AGAIN IS VERY SIMPLE.
This is a medium shot of the of the guitar which an
instrument that is played throughout the music
video.
This is the set design of the music video- as you can
see it is very basic with only amps, instruments and
wires visible.
The music video at this point has become completely
different, and is now extremely exuberant with colour. The
set design itself looks nostalgic to the 50’s era- the
sunbeds, bbq etc.
THIS SHOT IS SOMEWHAT
VOYEURISTIC; MINIMAL CLOTHING,
ENGAGING POSE. THE SET AGAIN
APPEARS TO BE BRIGHT.
The set design now resembles a extremely simplistic
street with light posts and crossings to signify this. There
is also a car used to illustrate a crash.
THIS PROP IS SYMBOLIC TO THE
THOUGHT OF DRUG TAKING IT IS AN
EXTREMELY OPEN SHOT THAT
ALLOWS THE VIEWER TO DENOTE
THE MEANING.
These props are simple but effective, they reinforce the
title of the song with sausages- linking back to the
outdoor bbq.
THIS FINAL SHOT ILLUSTRATES THE STUDIO
IN A DIFFERENT WAY, WITH THE USE OF
LIGHTING IT DENOTES CITY NIGHT LIFE
WITH BRIGHT SHADED LIGHTING.
