- 1. ANALYSIS OF ORIGINAL MUSIC VIDEO
- 2. What does it feature…? The original music video is set in a house, with the artist explaining how she hates her boyfriend and isn’t happy with their relationship anymore. The structure of the music video shows illustration, as the lyrics match what is been seen on camera. For example the artists sings: “every time that you're upset and I smile”- and then the camera reinforces these emotions by presenting them on camera I also found that the entire music video is set in a house, but in different locations of the house which could indicate how personal the situation is to her.
- 3. How will our remake differ…? Our remake version of “Foundations”, will differ entirely from the original music video in terms of structure, location and mise en scene. Our structure will be disjuncture, as we don’t want the lyrics to have any significance to the music video, however; we will add a few motifs by including the still shots and some lemons to have some connection to the original. To fit the urban feel of our remake we want to film in Brick Lane. Other locations also suggested are Regents Park, the Hummingbird bakery, various London streets and the green screen. As opposed to the original we have decided to film in 5 different locations. While Kate Nash was dressed casually in her video, we want to dress our artist quirkily and very bohemian, to fit the genre of the song; being indie- pop.
