1. RESEARCH
Make a plan of everything I need to research
Find out about different types of magazines and what makes
them successful
Research different fonts
Research types of text
Research color schemes
Find out about successful magazine covers
2. LAYOUT PLAN
I need to make a clear layout plan of my magazine so I know where I’m going to put
everything I’m going to use on my magazine. It also helps me get quick and easy
feedback without having to do the whole magazine and then changing things when
they don’t look right or don’t fit the criteria. I need to think of where I’m going to
layout my images, my text and any other features I’m including.
The layout needs to be:
Clear and understandable
Detailed enough to give feedback on different parts
Include key information of what you want to put on the final outcome
3. CONTENT
The content is important as it’s what’s going to be taking up the majority of the two
sides. I need to think about what I’m going to put in the magazine, what It's going
to say and If I’m going to have it one large article or a page of smaller pieces to fill it
up.
My content will need to:
Have appropriate text, nothing silly, stupid, or childish
Interest the reader
Make sense
Be relevant to the theme of the magazine
4. REPRESENTATION
I need to choose how to represent my magazine, how to show the
different articles and how they should be seen as either serious,
funny, or informative. I need to plan how I’m going to represent each
part of my magazine.
5. FEEDBACK
Once I have got a layout plan I need to get feedback from my work so I know what I
need to change to improve it. I need to receive feedback from multiple people and
change it, then get more feedback until my work is at a high standard. I’ll receive
feedback from my teacher so I know what I should keep, change, or expand on.This
will help get my work to the highest possible level.
I need to gather feedback which is
Detailed
Appropriate
Explains what’s good
Explains what needs changing
