3. We want to assure consistency between
assessors
We plan to introduce the role of moderator –
someone who would sample some of each
category of Fellowship to ensure parity of
decisions.

into HE teaching

should be in Year 3 of their studies and have
had teaching/student support experience
• What is an appropriate quota?
• 15 per year suggested.

Mentors are not there to:
Numbers might be reviewed in a few years time.
First column – a quota based on the proportion of students in that College who are teaching (compared with the total numbers of students)
Second column – a quota based on the proportion of students in that College who are teaching compared with the total number who are teaching.
The second option more accurately reflects the proportion of students who are teaching
That is, for example students in Engineering and Science – a large proportion of their students teach)
Liaison with the College contact person on availability to support a particular application deadline
Provides dates and hold up to 3 meetings prior to the application deadline (2 options for each meeting session, therefore 6 total)
Group guidance and support to encourage staff to submit their application to the specific deadline
Provide reminders about central support sessions.
Provide general feedback/prompts on draft applications/presentations
Help in responding to feedback on unsuccessful applications
