5. Production concept
Your production concept must be:
1. Outlined clearly to us, detailing exactly
what you aim to achieve.
2. Have a clear target audience and this
must be detailed with reasoning for your
choice.
3. How is your production concept different
than others we may have seen before?
4. Is this a small-scale, mid-scale or large-
scale project?
As part of your production concept you
must produce:
1. A short summary of your piece
2. Your company vision, mission, values and
how this production aligns with these
3. An analysis of your ideal audience
4. An analysis of your competition and how
you are different.

2. You must produce relevant resources which show
designs and the process you have been through
to come up with these choices.

elements of the work
Ways of demonstrating your process.
1. Set maps/designs
2. Create mood boards showing your initial ideas.
3. Show next step and final designs which make
sure your choices are clearly shown for every
element.
4. Show an understanding of how these things will
fit in with the other production elements.

to show us how you came to the decisions you
have made and a rationale for why you have
made these.

Technical elements must be relevant to:
1. The production that you are creating.
2. The venues that you are using.
3. The audience that you are making it for.

How do you show technical elements:
1. You must show us some form of
understanding of the technical elements
and how they can effect the piece your
making.
2. Show images of the type of effects that you
would like to create in your work.
3. (If you can) show lighting plans and other

8. Education and Outreach
Your education and outreach plan should:
1. Connect with your audience
2. Reflect the scale of your organisation
3. Reflect the values and mission of your
company
4. Consider what it is for – opportunities for
others? Marketing? Income?
This can be done by
1. Producing a ‘wrap around’ which adds
outreach and extra elements for the
work. These could be workshops, schools
sessions etc. These could also be working
with your specific group.
2. A rationale for your outreach work
3. An example workshop plan/resource
pack

a relevant way which is accessible to
them.

interested in the work you’re doing.
3. Engage your audience.
This can be done by producing:
1. A media pack
2. A rationale for the 5 W’s of your
marketing plan – consider budget,
audience, placement
3. Relevant examples of the marketing
material you would send out to the
groups and/or a design brief

It is important that you remember we will be
marking you on the level of work you have put into
