3. Graphic Design Production
• Advantages of working in this medium
Advantages of working in Photoshop are that I could crop
and layer images to create a poster that looks somewhat
professional.
• Disadvantages of working in this medium
The disadvantages I had were that I had a lack of
knowledge as I had never used photoshop before and I
also found that it was more time consuming trying to
work out functions such as copy, paste, screenshot and
crop as I had also previously never using a Mac before.
4. Graphic Design Production
Poster features product logo which is
important as the logo is universally
recognised.
My poster features the product
itself although I would have
preferred to have the character
interact with the product which is
something I could have achieved
with more advanced skills on
Photoshop
The main strength of my poster is that it
features a character, companies
sometimes use characters like the one
shown as a part of an advertisement
franchise to associate the product with
the certain character to appeal to a larger
range of customers such as children.
My poster includes a
new product slogan
that associates with
the images displayed
the poster.
5. Radio Production
• Advantages of working in this medium
The advantages of using Adobe Premier pro are that you
can import and layer several audio files. Layering audio
allowed our group to add certain sound effects over our
original dialog. Audio can also be cropped to make sure
that your overall audio is within the specific time limit.
• Disadvantages of working in this medium
I had never used this software before and as it is a
complex programme it was a bit hard to pick up on how
to work it.
6. Radio Production
My Audio
Hatton’s
Advert
Our advert sounds a bit muffled compared to the Hatton’s advert because of
two reasons. Firstly, the mic that we used would not be able to produce a
better quality audio than the Hattons advert as the ad was recorded by
professionals who were likely to be using better equiptment than we had
available and also we recorded our dialogue with a handheld mic and didn’t
hold it close enough to us when we were recording therefore resulting in an
dialogue that was a bit muffled and distant. Lastly the Hattons advert was
most likely produced in a studio where the mic would pick up no background
noise and a set off professionals would have edited the audio by adding
reverb to create a slight echo which creates the impression that the speaker
is talking infront of a large group through of people. Our audio was not
compressed and equalized unlike the Hattons advert which overall sounds
more proffessional.
7. Radio Production
Strengths of this product are that the dialog and music are
perfectly in sync and that the slogan was recorded clearly but
unfortunately I feel that the main dialog is a bit muffled and
quiet which is something we could have improved on if I had
spotted that sooner.
Another strength is that we successfully installed appropriate
sound effects that made our radio advert sound even more
legitimate by downloading mp3 and duty free music
downloads.
9. Video Game Production
• Advantages of working in this medium
• An advantage of working in this medium is that
the programme is easy to use as you can work in
layers and cut and paste to place as many
enemies and props you want.
• Disadvantages of working in this medium
• There is a limited amount of space to design your
background if you wanted to design a more
complex game.
10. Video Game Production
Compared to my
game this one has a
more detailed
background and
overall better
graphics
Enemy props
and sprites.
Character pickups
Overall my game is much more pixelated making for a game
that’s a lot more retro however my foreground needs to be
improved and compared to the game on the right my
character has just as much detail.
11. Video Game Production
A weakness is the detail to the
background due to the amount
of time I has to create this as I
was absent during time of
production. If I was to change
the background I would
perhaps try to the more artistic
and add more detail to the cliffs
in the background.
A strength is the detail to the
foreground and props. Although
I don’t have very good artistic
skills, the setting is fairly
obvious.
Luckily I was able to cut and paste the
coca cola cans into my product as the
result would have been no where near
as good if I were to have created them
from scratch. This is a stregth as the
12. Comparison
• Which product do you believe advertises the product
the best? Why? I think that our radio advert advertises
the product best as the product is mentioned amongst
some funny dialogue and a catchy tune.
• Which of your products is the most professional? Why?
• I think that my poster advert is the most professional
as the poster just looks overall like a real advertisement
poster and also features a child friendly character that
could be included in an official advertisement
franchise.
