HAZARD
Is any agent that can cause harm or damage to humans,
property, or the environment.
A term used to describe something that can cause potential or
unavoidable situation.
TYPES OF WORKPLACE HAZARD
1. Safety Hazard – cause by the lack of
machine guards or unsafe workplace
condition, even unsafe work practices.
Work place hazard exist and it can
come from anything.
TYPES OF WORKPLACE HAZARD
2. Biological Hazard – refers to
organism or organic matters produced
bt these organisms ( viruses, bacteria,
fungi or parasites) that are harmful to
human
3. Chemical Hazards – can be solid,
liquid or gas form that can harm the
health of the affected individual.
4. Ergonomic Hazard – physical factors
in the environment that may cause
musculoskeletal injuries such as
repetitive movement or poorly
designed workstations
5. Physical Hazard – anything in the
environment that can cause physical
harm to a person like exposure to slips,
strips, falls, noise, vibration or
radiation
5. Psychological hazard – also known
as work stressor, hazard that affects
the general well – being of a person.

RISK
Is the chance or probability that a person will be harmed or experience an adverse
health effect cause by a hazard. It may also apply situations with property or
equipment loss.
Factors that influence the degree of risk include
How much a person is exposed to a hazardous things or condition, how the
person is exposed ( e.g breathing in a vapor, skin, skin contact), and how severe
are the effects under the conditions of exposure.
Risk Assessment is the process where
you:
• Identify Hazard
• Analyze or evaluate the risk associated with that hazard and determine
appropriate ways to eliminate or control the hazard.
Risk Assessment is the process where you: A general definition of adverse health
effect is “ any change in body function or the structures of cells that can lead to
disease or health problems”.
The following are the adverse health effects:
• Bodily injury
• Disease
• Change in the way the body function, grow or develops
• Effects on developing fetus
• Decrease in life span
• Effects on the ability to accommodate additional stress
GENERALIZATION
Hazard is any that can cause harm or damage to humans,
property or environment. Risk is defined as the probability that
exposure to a hazard will lead to negative consequences or
more simply a hazard poses no risk if there is no exposure to
that hazard.

  • 6. HAZARD Is any agent that can cause harm or damage to humans, property, or the environment. A term used to describe something that can cause potential or unavoidable situation. TYPES OF WORKPLACE HAZARD 1. Safety Hazard – cause by the lack of machine guards or unsafe workplace condition, even unsafe work practices. Work place hazard exist and it can come from anything.
  • 7. TYPES OF WORKPLACE HAZARD 2. Biological Hazard – refers to organism or organic matters produced bt these organisms ( viruses, bacteria, fungi or parasites) that are harmful to human 3. Chemical Hazards – can be solid, liquid or gas form that can harm the health of the affected individual.
  • 8. 4. Ergonomic Hazard – physical factors in the environment that may cause musculoskeletal injuries such as repetitive movement or poorly designed workstations 5. Physical Hazard – anything in the environment that can cause physical harm to a person like exposure to slips, strips, falls, noise, vibration or radiation 5. Psychological hazard – also known as work stressor, hazard that affects the general well – being of a person. TYPES OF WORKPLACE HAZARD

It may also apply situations with property or equipment loss. Factors that influence the degree of risk include How much a person is exposed to a hazardous things or condition, how the person is exposed ( e.g breathing in a vapor, skin, skin contact), and how severe are the effects under the conditions of exposure.
  • 10. Risk Assessment is the process where you: • Identify Hazard • Analyze or evaluate the risk associated with that hazard and determine appropriate ways to eliminate or control the hazard. Risk Assessment is the process where you: A general definition of adverse health effect is “ any change in body function or the structures of cells that can lead to disease or health problems”. The following are the adverse health effects: • Bodily injury • Disease • Change in the way the body function, grow or develops • Effects on developing fetus • Decrease in life span • Effects on the ability to accommodate additional stress

  • 12. GENERALIZATION Hazard is any that can cause harm or damage to humans, property or environment. Risk is defined as the probability that exposure to a hazard will lead to negative consequences or more simply a hazard poses no risk if there is no exposure to that hazard.
