2. Barbara has created this image to represent
society's views towards women, I know this
because the message is telling Women that they
are being used in society for fun and that they are
taking advantage off by the people with more
power in society. This specific piece of her work
used bold and contrasting text to allows the text to
stand out over the image, this is done by white text
being placed ontop of a red foreground. The black
and white image in the background represents how
women were seen as very plain, boring and
simplistic as this is what the colors black and white
infer. The image is a photographic and graphically
designed image as the main picture was took as a
photograph and the text was placed over the
image using software. Overall the image creates a
dark, gloomy mood as it is representing a negative
subject that everyone in society must be informed
about. The text creates much more meaning to the
image as it is adding emphasis to the image.
3. This image that Barbara has created has a very
strong message and is using an image of Hitler,
who is known world wide for his negative actions
during his life. The text scares the audience
because it makes them realize what effect
powerful people can have on the vulnerable, by
using their power to control others. The colors
used in this image are again very bold and contrast
with each other. The bold, white text is very
obvious as it is on a strong red foreground. Barbara
has increased the size of the text ‘You Don’t’ so
that it is more personal towards each individual
member of the audience. The shape, rectangle, is
repeatedly used in the image, but is very effective
as it allows the text to stand out.
