1. This is our costume for
the only character
which will feature in our
film opening. The shirt
is dirty with ‘blood’
stains on it, making the
audience feel as if
something bad has
already happened
making them want to
carry on watching.
This is one of the main
props we will in our
film opening. It
provides lighting to the
dark surrounding. As
the lighting is so sparse
it adds to the tense
atmosphere which is a
typical convention of
thrillers.
Bandages are going to
be used on our
antagonist to make the
character look more
dirty and grubby. These
are common
conventions of a
thriller. Example of this
is used in Se7en which
inspired us for a lot of
our films.
These a pieces of
paper with red ink
stains on them. In our
film we will use a
straw and blew the
ink across the paper
making it look like
splashes of blood.
This was inspired by
the film Orphan which
has splashes of colour
on the film ending.

2. This list will be in our
filming opening as
well. This makes the
audience think ‘who
are they?’ ‘has he
killed them?’ ‘is he
going to kill them?’. All
these questions will
be running through
their minds, creating a
edgy atmosphere.
These images are
going to be a key
feature in our film
opening. These
images will make the
antagonist seem like
a child killer and
make the audience
wonder if he has
killed them or not?
This pen will be used
in our film opening
to draw lines over
images, which will
be conveyed be him
manipulating people
making him seem
dominate and
unstoppable which
is another
convention of
thrillers.
These pieces of
paper are going to
be used purely to
make the scene look
messy, cluttered and
adding to his
character being dirty
and unhygienic.
