we need to do PDCA faster..

“Process/Method” is as important as “Result”.
• You develop “process” to attain your goal. It is controllable. “Result” is the outcome of
many factors including luck, which is often uncontrollable.
• The harder you contemplate the best process to attain your target, the more likely you find
the most efficient process/method and attain your goal.
Key word:
LEARNING
Steps in the check process
1. Are we happy with the result? (need for ‘scientific’ report that shows the quality of the result).
• What is different from what we desired/expected?
• What are the good things that are realized?
• Are there things that can be improved further?
• Which elements of the result can be copied elsewhere?
2. Are we happy with the process? (describe the ‘methodology’)
• Which process elements went different than desired/planned?
• What were the good things in the process?
• Are there things that can be improved further?
• Which elements of the process can be used elsewhere?
Why we? Because there are more stakeholders (customers, employees, company)!!
Don’t throw away targets because of only a bad process!!!
The boss/manager has a main responsibility for his employees – the role of the manager also need to be
checked. The boss has to show hansei (self-reflection). Bosses also make mistakes and can learn.

It is the starting point for PDCA
Managers have search for problems.
Not to blame someone, but to start turning the PDCA wheel.
Condition: accept that we are not perfect

It is controllable. “Result” is the outcome of many factors including luck, which is often uncontrollable. • The harder you contemplate the best process to attain your target, the more likely you find the most efficient process/method and attain your goal. Key word: LEARNING
  • 8. Steps in the check process 1. Are we happy with the result? (need for ‘scientific’ report that shows the quality of the result). • What is different from what we desired/expected? • What are the good things that are realized? • Are there things that can be improved further? • Which elements of the result can be copied elsewhere? 2. Are we happy with the process? (describe the ‘methodology’) • Which process elements went different than desired/planned? • What were the good things in the process? • Are there things that can be improved further? • Which elements of the process can be used elsewhere? Why we? Because there are more stakeholders (customers, employees, company)!! Don’t throw away targets because of only a bad process!!! The boss/manager has a main responsibility for his employees – the role of the manager also need to be checked. The boss has to show hansei (self-reflection). Bosses also make mistakes and can learn.
  • 9. P D C A Desired Result Methodology (=Process) Date for the Check (in agenda’s) Real Result Real Methodology (=Process) CHECK is not ‘evaluation after finishing the project’ CHECK is a comparison !! With the goal to learn. Don’t blaim Why CHECK and why not STUDY (PDSA)??
  • 10. Why should we be happy with PROBLEMS? CA PDCA PDCA PDCA etc… It is the starting point for PDCA Managers have search for problems. Not to blame someone, but to start turning the PDCA wheel. Condition: accept that we are not perfect
