12. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (ESV) 16
All Scripture is breathed out
by God and profitable for
teaching, for reproof, for
correction, and for training in
righteousness, 17 that the
man of God may be complete,
equipped for every good work.
13. Honestly, the background on this lesson is
overwhelming…so much information it is
impossible to go through it all and make it to the
service.
1 Samuel 16:13 (ESV Strong’s) 13 Then Samuel
took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of
his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon
David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up
and went to Ramah.
14. From the time that David is anointed, he waits
about 15 years to become King over Judah.
Then David has to wait through another 7
years of civil war between House of David and
House of Saul before he is finally named king
of all Israel.
Over 20 years between anointing and naming:
refining season for what he would be doing.

28. Why are we recognizing and
celebrating God’s presence by
blessing the people He has placed
before us?
Hope evaporates in an environment
that knows everything that is wrong
and nothing of how to make it right.
~Matt Chandler
Teaching: Instruction
Reproof: refuting errors
Correction: Straighten up
Righteousness: To get done what God wants to get done
The Word of God gives you all the wisdom you need to live in a way that reflects God’s understanding
God is about processes…what are we waiting on?
Difference between God and everyone else is that He always comes through…always, but it is according to His timing, not ours.
What timing are you struggling with right now that you have to lean on the God of the Bible in order to get through…
Seems vain but this is actually an opportunity to let everyone know that God is in control here because no one thought this could ever happen…remember, they have had to wait over 20 years too.
This gives who to those who put their faith in God…we don’t have a blind faith at all…we have a faith that is build on the Memorial Stones that God has laid out for us.
Lord of hosts: Lord of armies points to the truth that the God who is sovereign over all creation was with David and thus with his people. Again…hope is a big part of this equation…here, it reminds the people of Israel that God is control because there is no way they could have taken this land without Him leading the armies of Heaven…
Compare “hosts” to other “hosts” in the Bible?
First thing that David does is make Jerusalem the capital of Israel.
Makes is look like a place that God has blessed him with…
David names the city to recognize the fact that God did this, not him…
He makes the city look like a city that God is the capital of…
If God is going to be celebrated, God needs to be recognized for what He is doing by His people…
People hear a lot of great stuff and they are all turned off by it…what are you doing with your life to make sure people know you really believe what you believe…
FBISD and Willowridge…FBISD allows us to do a lot of crazy stuff on campus…
I asked for a fence for 6 years before I used Doug to get the job done…I was discouraged…I have been very discouraged by their actions lately…
- You know that you are giving God glory when others are recognizing it too…
For God’s presence to be celebrated…you have to make sure that you do something for His people with what He has blessed you with…
King of Tyre sends people to work on David’s house because he sees what God is doing in David’s life…
Six steps and rest refers to what?
God’s people see the ark of God as God’s presence…what do David do with that presence? Honor it…
Again, David is celebrating what God is doing and others are following suit because of his example…
There has to be some sort of fruit if there is legit sowing…
Sometimes it is uncomfortable to always point to God…
Not talking about the push back you are feeling because you are not being a good steward of your time…
Indigestion is not a spiritual attack…
For God’s presence to be celebrated…you have to make sure that you do something for His people with what He has blessed you with…
King of Tyre sends people to work on David’s house because he sees what God is doing in David’s life…
We recognize and celebrate God’s presence in order to give hope to the hopeless…
How do you know that others are buying in? Look at this picture…
They are having community meetings now that are involving people in Sienna…how crazy is that?
Your hearts for celebrating the Gospel is pointing people to the hope that can only be found in it…that is why we are celebrating God…
