How did you attract/address your audience? From the audience feedback that I received, I decided these are the most successful features that I used to attract/address my audience…

With my target audience being mostly female, I chose fairly feminine colours, specifically the use of pink and purple. I am very pleased with how the colour scheme appears very sophisticated and seems to connote high production values, something that I think appeals to my audience. “ Colour scheme is effective ”

[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],[object Object],I think the use of the grid format was important for targeting my audience. I think the full pages make the magazine appear interesting and intelligent, which is appropriate for my target audience.

Unlike many of the models in magazines that I looked at in my research, she looks relaxed and happy. She is also close in age to the audience so it instantly connotes a sense of youth.. In this image in particular, which was the main image for my double page spread, I tried to move away from the typical image you might expect from a magazine. Although it still contains iconography of classical music, a classical guitar, and my composed model, the mise en scene of the dirty steps and the model’s body language reminds me of the sort of image you might associated with a less formal genre, such as indie, which might also appeal to my audience, as it targets a similar age group.
