Product
Skater magazine, skater sites, urban styled sites.
Location
In town and in a graveyard location in town.
Subject
Objects found in the graveyard, gravestones and hopefully even statues if I can find any. Also random
subjects in town or objects found in town.
Despite shooting in the style of a skater magazine my subjects will not be skaters, but things that
would represent that kind of style and theme, to make my shoot stand out a bit more.
Props
Props will be things found naturally in my locations of shooting, they will all be random.
Shot types
Wide shot – To fit more into the image and make the area seem bigger.
Extreme wide shot – Like the wide shot but fits more into the shot and makes the area seem
even bigger.
Close up – Can be used for objects I find to get more detailed shots and make them more eye
catching. It will also make the subject of my photo fill up more space on the image resulting
in less negative space.
High angle and low angle shots – These shots are good for making the subject looking bigger
or smaller, or more threatening or less depending on the shot and the subject.
Post Production
Doing some research onto what skater magazine photographers do I think it’d work well if I were to
make my photos black and white, with Photoshop you can make them black and white and choose
what colours are black and what are white, so this will be effective for me in choosing what areas
should stand out and what shouldn’t.
Also I may crop my images depending what the subject and the style of the image it could be
worthwhile cropping them into a 16:9 aspect ratio to make them look a bit more different and
professional.
I may use the Curves tool in Photoshop to make the image look more professional and give it either
more or less contrast, rather than using the standard brightness and contrast built in Photoshop, this
way gives me more control.
