The document describes the process of creating a magazine cover using a gradient background for eye catch and adding a masthead in black, blue, and white colors. A model on the cover wears a color that stands out and has an outer glow, as does the masthead, to draw attention. Sell lines of varying sizes and glow effects were added along with a barcode and website. Extra sell lines were added to persuade readers, and a three color scheme was used throughout to follow conventions without confusion.
2. Using gradient tool I created this background as I feel it is eye catching and will attract readers straight towards it. The colour of the background is loud and is vibrant . This was the first step of creating the magazine
3. I then added my masthead which stayed with the colour scheme of black, blue and white. I chose this colour scheme as I feel these colours go very well together. My model on the cover is wearing a colour that stands out from the colour scheme I chose to do this as the vibrant background wont take attention away from the model. The image of the model has an outer glow allowing it to have a bigger impact upon the readers, as well as the model the masthead has also got an outer glow allowing it to be bold.
4. I now added sell lines, keeping them all different from each other through size and glow effect also adding a bar code and website, as it is a typical convention of a magazine. The more sell lines that would have a greater impact upon the reader would be more bold. Using white throughout as it will stand out from the blue and black background.
5. I added some extra sell lines as there didn’t seem to be enough and the cover therefore wouldn’t be able to persuade a reader to read it. Throughout the cover I used 3 colour scheme black, blue and white if I had used more colours it would confuse the reader and wouldn’t be a typical convention of a music magazine. This is now the completed version of my front cover.
