1. Curriculum and Instruction Lead, Spain
We are seeking a talented Curriculum and Instruction Country Lead, interested in being the main
point of contact for Generation curriculum and instruction, planning, managing, and delivering
onboarding and professional development to Generation instructors in Spain.

But many employers can’t find people with the skills they need for entry-level jobs. Generation was
created in 2014 to help bridge this gap—at speed and scale.

millions, of young people a year. And we’re building proof that this training creates real business
outcomes for employers, and lasting career impact for trainees—so everyone has the incentive to
invest in skills. Our goal is to help our students achieve personal and professional success—and
fundamentally change their life trajectories. Generation programs prepare unemployed or
underemployed young people, aged 18 to 29, for jobs in four sectors: healthcare, technology,
retail/sales, and skilled trades.
Today, Generation is active in thirteen countries—146 cities and 348 sites—with diverse social,
economic and labor-market contexts.
What will you do
To support instructors in the high-quality delivery of our programs, Generation is seeking a full-
time Curriculum and Instruction Lead to plan, manage, and deliver onboarding and professional
development to Generation instructors in Spain, and support the Global Generation team in
curriculum design of new programs. The Curriculum & Instruction Lead will report directly to the
CEO in Generation Spain and will work in close collaboration with country staff, Global C&I team,
instructors, delivery & employer partners and other global Generation staff.
Note that this role is based in Madrid and will require ~20% travel to regions within the country.
Main Responsibilities
● Program Design, Instructor Strategy and Mentorship (20%)
○ Develop a country-specific strategy for instructor and mentors’ training and
development, customizing global tools and guidance as needed to achieve program
goals.
○ Integrate instructor and mentor support into larger programmatic goals and
strategies for scale.
○ Support activity mapping with Global Curriculum & Instruction Lead as needed,
working with employers to surface the activities and skills that should be integrated
into a curriculum for new professions.
2. ○ Liaise with stakeholders (e.g. funders, employers and potential employers, technical
experts, training delivery partners) to gather inputs needed for curriculum design
and to obtain feedback on design as needed.
○ Provide feedback to the Global Curriculum & Instruction Lead during the design
process, ensuring content and activities are relevant and appropriate for the
context.
● Instructor and Mentor Onboarding (15%)
○ Collaborate with the Global Curriculum & Instruction team on the adoption and
customization of Generation’s global strategy for instructor and mentor onboarding
and development.
○ Design, customize and drive facilitation of online and / or in-person onboarding and
training for Generation instructors and mentors, engaging them in an adult-
appropriate, participatory way.
● Instructor and Mentor Professional Development & Classroom Delivery (35%)
○ Deliver professional development for instructors (e.g., coaching, refresher trainings,
classroom observations, providing evidence-based feedback on observed strengths,
areas for improvement and progress towards development goals) to help them
improve their delivery of the Generation methodology and instructional practice.
○ Lead collection and evaluation of data before, during, and after onboarding and
trainings to identify lessons learned and any additional support needs for
instructors.
○ Develop and deliver model for lighter touch career advice for program applicants
○ Continue to improve employability sessions to prepare students & maximize
outcomes (inc. leveraging corporate volunteers)
● Program Learning and Improvement (15%)
○ Identify session design and classroom delivery opportunities, challenges, and
lessons learned, and collaborating with the Curriculum & Instruction Team to
address them in the best way
○ Provide feedback on global training approaches and tools that are used to support
instructor development.
● Stakeholder Engagement and Management (15%)
○ Articulate Generation’s methodology for curriculum and instruction to diverse
audiences, including employers, funders, training service providers, or other
partners.
○ Lead the identification of training service providers that will deliver Generation
programs and supply instructors as needed.
○ Communicate updates to donors and funders regarding program design, delivery,
and quality.
○ Monitor contractual obligations with delivery and employer partners (e.g.,
intellectual property, achieving key performance indicators, and type of contract)
Experience and mindsets
● Recommended minimum 2+ years direct supervisory or management experience.
3. ● At least 2 years of experience designing and delivering multi-week training programs for
adult learners.
● At least 1 years of experience coaching or providing professional development to
instructors/reports.
● Experience managing relationships and communicating with diverse stakeholders, such as
training delivery partners, donors, or employers.
● Experience working with both highly technical (e.g. software development) and non-
technical (e.g. healthcare) programs and knowledge of current trends in these industries is
preferred
● Creative and analytical thinker with a track record of managing projects and delivering
operational targets.
● Professional demeanour, excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
(Fluency in spoken and written English and Spanish)
● High degree of independence with the ability to also be a team player.
● Entrepreneurial, creative, proactive mindset required. Experience in a start-up environment
is preferred.
● Ideal candidate will have experience working with educational institutions, and/or has
knowledge of current trends in adult learning and the players in the skills training
landscape.
● The candidate should be open to traveling within the country, and occasional travel to other
Generation sites as per the needs of the program.
Education
● Bachelor's degree in any field with a strong academic track record; Post graduation will be
an added advantage.
