WEB OFFICE HOURS
(during distance learning)
Morning: 10:30am-11:30am
Afternoon:12:30pm-1:30pm
During office hours I will make myself available for questions. In order
for me to better serve you, it is recommended that you schedule a time
with me to discuss questions.
Consequences
You are accountable for your behavior
We will have positive AND negative consequences. This means you
CAN redeem yourself and change the outcome!
Class Rules
• We will use appropriate language at all times
• We will stay in our seat unless instructed otherwise
• We will use the restroom before OR after class and not during
• We will respect each other as well as the property of ourselves and
others
• We will raise our hand and wait for permission to speak
• We will refrain from having any type of food(s) or drink(s) in the
classroom
• We will work together diligently to maintain a healthy workspace
Class Procedures
• Instructor will greet students outside classroom door each day.
• Students will enter classroom quietly and sit in their assigned seat.
• Students will then look at the board for the warm-up. Each class
period will begin with a warm-up that will be taken up for a grade.
Students are expected to begin this warm-up before the bell rings so
they can complete it. Tardy students will not receive any extra time,
but will still have to turn in the warm-up for a grade.
• After time is called on the warm-up students will pass their warm-ups
forward to be collected by the teacher. Then the student must be
quiet and listen for instructions on the day’s activities.
Cheating
• We will work on our own assignments independently.
• Any student caught cheating will receive a zero on the class work or
test, and parents will be notified. If cheating persists, the student will
be sent to the office. Talking during a test is considered cheating. All
questions concerning work should be directed to the instructor for
clarification unless the assignment is group work.
Absences:
• When a student misses a class period of World History, they should
check with the teacher at the end of class. This will be the
responsibility of the student. All missed tests and quizzes must be
made up at an agreed-upon time within one week of the
absence. Because of the breadth and scope of material covered in
class, it is very important for students to make every effort to attend
class regularly. Make-up assignments cannot take the place of
classroom instruction.
Test/Quizzes
• Students will be given prior notice before a test. Test and quiz
material will be directly related to class work and warm-ups, so it is
important for students to give their best efforts in class and complete
all work. If you miss a test, you will make it up within one week of the
missed test date.
• All necessary clarifications of exams will
be directed to the instructor.
Assignments
Online Assignments must be turned in by midnight on the due date.
Example: assignment 2 is due on 8/19 at 11:59:59pm, by 8/20
12:00:00am your assignment is considered late.
LATE WORK
Late work will be accepted up to 3 days after the assignment date.
EACH day your work is late will result in an automatic 5 point
deduction before your grade is calculated.
Example: an assignment is due 8/19 and you choose to submit it on
8/22, you will automatically lose 15 points (1 point for each of the 3
days).
Computers
• Students will use computers and are expected to follow the posted rules. If the student breaks any of the
rules or behaves inappropriately with a computer they will lose their computer privileges.
• The rules are:
1. Do not play games, listen to music, watch videos, or go onto any Internet sites unless they are part of an
assignment.
2. Get the teacher's permission before printing.
3. Do not personalize the computers by:
• a. Installing screen savers
• b. Changing the desktop background
• c. Adding, changing or moving icons on the desktop
5. Do not damage the hardware, software or anything within the classroom.
6. Leave other students and their computers alone unless instructed otherwise.
7. Close all windows and push in your chair when you are done.
Let’s get Quizzical!
Now that we have all had time to read the classroom rules we will be
using both online and in the classroom. You may now take the quiz.
Stay safe and I will see you all soon!!
