2. The Crime & Scene
WHO-
•Trayvon Martin ( 17 years old victim )
WHAT HAPPENED?
•- Trayvon Martin was a 17 year old
African American boy that was shot and
killed by George Zimmerman while
walking through a gated community,
where he was visiting his father.
WHEN?
•-February 26,2012.
WHERE?
•- Sanford, Florida.

3. Psychological Profile
• Based on what happened, I
believe George Zimmerman
was paranoid because, there
gated community has been
robbed before but that dose
not allow him to shoot and kill
down an innocent 17 year old.
• This killing was also not
premeditated because he did
not have this planed out, it
was just something that
happened.

4. Background
George Zimmerman was arrested
before for:
• Domestic violence.
• Resisting an officer without
violence.
• Resisting an officer with
violence (This is a felony
charge that could have landed
him in prison)
• George Zimmerman did not
have any connections with
Trayvon Martin before the
killing.

5. Forensic Evidence
• When police arrived to the
scene, Zimmerman told them
that Martin had attacked him,
and that he had shot Martin in
self-defense.
• All that was at the scene was a
bag of Skittles and an Arizona
can and Trayvons wallet.
• Police said that they had not
found evidence to contradict
his assertion of self-defense.

6. Legal Aspects
• A Prosecutor was appointed to
take over the investigation and
on April 11, 2012, she chose to
file charges of second degree
murder against George
Zimmerman.
• He then turned himself in and
was placed in custody.
• On April 20, the judge approved
Zimmerman's bail on a $150,000
bond, and He was released from
jail on April 23 and is required to
wear an electronic monitoring
device until trial.

7. Interesting Facts
• We should care about
this case because it
teaches us a lesson about
being racially profiled by
others, you can be
innocent but in someone
else's eyes your guilty.
• I choose this topic
because it was recent
news and though it would

• Many people think that
Zimmerman shot and
killed Trayvon Martin
because of stereotype.
we may never know
exactly why he did what
he did unless he
confesses to it.

10. Reflections
• I believe that George
Zimmerman should have
not have had bail, I think
he should have been in
jail until proven
innocent.
• What I've learned from
this case is to always be
aware of your
surroundings at all times.
