Zoicel Gatdula is a survivor of 1991 eruption of Mt. Pinatubo. They were on the bus when the eruption
happened. It was very traumatizing for her and her husband because they saw many houses that was
buried in Lahar. It was June 15, 1991 when the second largest volcanic eruption happened in that
century, and by far the largest eruption to affect a densely populated area. Due to the collapse of Mount
Pinatubo's summit and the formation of a caldera, the eruption lasted nine hours and resulted in several
major earthquakes. Zoicel with her husband was stranded in the bus because the driver cant see
anything on the road and because of the major earthquakes that is happening. And their only prayer is
that they will come home safe and sound.
Zoicel and Her husband develop a fear from the volcanic eruptions. But as time goes they slowly
overcome that fear. And with the help of prayers. In this situations, the victims shows how powerful
prayers are. Yes we cant stop disasters like this but we can plan on what to do and how to survive this
kinds of disasters one of the preparation is prayers cause we wont know when this natural disaster
come. And I learned that God is greater than this disasters.
