9. EIA RULES AND REGULATIONS(PEPO & PEPA)
 PEPO (Pakistan Environmental Protection Ordinance):
 And section 8, of PEPO, 1983 required IEE and EIA
 PEPO for all the new project which have adverse impact on
environment
 Environmental approval for large scale projects from respective
EPA since 1st July, 1994
 PEPO, 1983 was replaced by PEPA, 1997

10. PEPA (PAKISTAN ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ACT,
1997)
 In PEPA Under Section 12:
 EIA is mandatory requirement for all proposed
development projects likely have adverse environmental
impacts
 This section 12 has become operational under Pakistan
Environmental Protection Agency
