3. • The Greek school is divided in: primary school (6
years), secondary school (3 years) and the senior
high school(3 years). The children go to school at
age from 6 to 7 and they finished at age of 18.
• The education is compulsory of age 16 from the
first week of September until 26 June 7 hours every
day(expect of weekend). The most important
holidays during the school year are: summer
holidays, Christmas holidays and the East holidays.
4. The school year is
divided in two periods:
the first and the
second four monthly.
At the end of each
period students take a
report with their
marks. The school
marks are from 1 to
20.
7. • We’ve got 13 basic subjects. Mathematics,
Greek language, ancient geek language,
chemistry, since, history, biology, physical
education, English language, religious,
information technology.
• These subject are the same at the technical
high school too. But at thee school there re
some extra subjects.
8. Our opinion:
• In the Greek school’s organization there are
not only positive things but also there are
many negative things.
• First of all we go at school only mornings of 5
days of week. So, we have the weekends to
do everything we want.
• Our educational system is very exam oriented.
