Kevin M. Maguire, P.Eng., MBA
Innovative and hard working engineer with 37 years experience working in all aspects of the oil
and gas industry with an emphasis on completions. Results oriented while providing cost
effective and safe operations. My experience ranges from critical sour reef wells through
horizontal shale multi-well pads. My expertise covers vertical, horizontal and directional wells,
sour operations (including critical sour wells), rigless completions, snubbing, logging,
perforating, downhole equipment, tubing, casing, cementing, stimulation (acidizing and fracing),
rod pumps, screw pumps, submersible pumps, gas lift, coiled tubing, wireline, testing, sour
operations, fishing, ball drop / open hole packer systems, plug and perf, horizontal drill outs, well
analysis and simulation, wellsite supervision, wellsite equipment and abandonments.

Position: Engineer Completions Senior Staff
Responsibilities: Completions, re-completions and workovers in Kaybob , Fox
Creek, Brazeau River and Rocky Mountain House.
Horizontal Duvernay Shale completions. Large high pressure slickwater and
hybrid fracs. Single well and multi-well pads completed. Instrumental in
working with Duvernay team to bring play to fruition and to reduce costs to
make it viable.
Horizontal Monteney completions. Maintained productivity while reducing
completion costs by 50%.
Horizontal Dunvegan completions. Pumping oil wells with up to a 1000
BBl/d initial production. Reduced completion costs by 30%.
Recompletions. Cardium, Notikewan, Cadomin, Gething, Monteny and
critical sour reef wells. Single, sandwiched perfs and multi-zone with oil
fracs, foam fracs and propane frac.

Position: Senior Completions Engineer / Technical Specialist
Responsibilities:
Completions in the Deep Basin / Foothills area. Completed 130+ wells with
AFE costs of $175+ million.
All sour operations in the Deep Basin / Foothills area.
Horizontal Cardium oil completions. Multi-stage oil fracs, foam fracs and
propane frac.
Horizontal Nikanassin gas completions. Multi-stage slick water fracs.
Vertizontals – Multi-stage fracs in the horizontal and “stack fracs” in the
vertical.
Resourse type plays in Deep Basin multiple zone “stack frac” comingled
completions. Reduced completion costs by 30%.
Critical sour completions in Coleman, Elmworth and Noel.

Sheer Energy Inc., started as a Junior Capital Pool, was a small oil & gas
company trading on the TSX Venture Exchange. Sheer Energy, in
conjunction with an Iranian partner, signed a buyback agreement with the
NIOC to redevelop the MIS field. Sheer Energy had a 49% interest in this $89
million (US) project. Sheer was the first small independent oil company to
successfully negotiate a Buy-Back Agreement with the NIOC.
Sheer Energy sold the project to the Chineese National Petroleum Company in
August 2004. In 2005 Sheer was almalgamated with Rigo Energy of Italy to
form CYGAM Energy Inc.
1999 to 2004 El Paso Oil & Gas Canada, Inc. / Coastal Oil & Gas Canada, Inc.
Position: Completions Manager
Started with Coastal Oil & Gas Canada, Inc. in 1999 as a Senior Drilling and
Completion Engineer. Became Completions Manager when Coastal was
purchased by El Paso in February, 2001.
1997 to 1999 KB Resources Inc.
Position: V. P. Engineering
KB was a small oil and gas company with eight employees and production of
550 BOE/day. KB’s production doubled over a one year peroid.

1994 to 1997 Coachlight Resources Ltd.
Position: Director, Chief Operating Officer, Executive Vice President
Coachlight was a small oil and gas company with four employees and
production of 350 BOE/day. The net value of Coachlight increased, over a 2 ½
year period from$3.1 million to $9.9 million proior to being sold.
1989 to 1994 Penguin Works Inc.
Position: President
Penguin, with a number of partners operated 35 wells producing 260 BBl/d.
Penguin was sold to Coachlight and the two companies were amalgamated.
1985 to 1994 Drillcomp Engineering Ltd.
Position: President, Principal Engineer
Drillcomp provided consulting services to the oil and gas industry including
Project Management, Property Management, Planning, Drilling, Completions,
Workovers, Production Optimization, Facilities, Reservoir and Evaluations.
Drillcomp was sold in 1995.
