• First Day: Question knowledge prior
• Second Day: Ask what is the Appalachian Trail
• Third Day: Recite the Appalachian Trail map
• Fourth Day: Review articles about Appalachian Trail

3. Main Objective
Students will be able to
explain and describe the
Appalachian trail by
drawing, reading articles,
watching documentaries,
and “hiking” the path of
the trail with 100%
accuracy by the end of
the week.

4. Day Plan
• Day 1: Question prior knowledge, show the Appalachian Trail,
describe what the trail is
• Day 2: Ask what we learned yesterday, students draw the trail
• Day 3: Recite the Appalachian Trail map, Read articles and folktales of
the trail
• Day 4: Review the articles, Watch documentaries of trail
• Day 5: Have students make a map, “Hike” the Appalachian Trail
