irecting has alWays
been in the back of my
mind. Finally, I got the
opportunity to direct my first
Kickin' It episode, calledrFight
at the Museum,'this season.
Because l'm only 16 years old,
I knew going into it that it'd
be difficult. l'd be directing
people who have been in the
industry for years. I just tried
to keep my head up and let

ffiDirecting is a really unique
job. You basically decide
what the audience is going
to see on the show. lt doesnt
sound like much, but then
you look at a script that is 40
pages and know you have to
camera block the whole thing
- you figure out where the
cameraswill go for every little

you do it, the easier it gets.
Getting to work with my Kickin'
It cast was also great, because
everyone was so supportive. We
were cracking up because it was
just us on set during rehearsals,
since there was no other
director. lt was pretty cool. ln
the end, it all worked out and
even the people who had been
doubting me came to tell me I
did a great job, so that made me
feel good.
L Words of wisdom
I credit this going so smoothly
to the fact that I did so much
homework. I spent hours
camera blocking episodes that
werent even mine. I would get
the script and camera bloc( :
and then compare my notes to
the director's, who was actually
doing it. Do the homework, and
