Teacherstarts a discussiononthe obvious effectsof humanhormones and
ask questions
1)whatdo you knowaboutdifferenthumanhormones ? pupil says,plant also
Teacher asks studentstothinkaboutdifferencesbetweenlittle boys contains hormones
and men and between littlegirlsand women. Reinforce the conceptsthat
humanhormonesare verypotent,have alotof individualjobs,andare found
inextremelysmallamounts.Teacherasksquestions
1)How a saplingbecome agianttree ?
Teacher Says,Today we are going to learn in a different approach about plant pupil says yes
Hormones.
Presentation
ACTIVITY-I
Teacher explains that there are two types of hormones in plants pupil listens carefully
They are
Growth promoters Growth inhibitors
Teacher divides the students into groups based on the hormone(card)
obtained and ask them to disscuss about it .
Group auxins
Group auxin lists out the sources and functions of hormone Group auxins list out
Sources –germinating seeds ,stem tips ,root tips ,leaves , the sources and
leaf buds functions
Functions –role in the dominance of terminal bud
Elongation of stem cells ,growth of lateral roots
Role in phototropism
Eg;
Group cytokinins
Sources –produced at the tip of roots and transport Group cytokinins
through xylem list out the
Functions-accelerating cell growth and cell division sources and functions
Germination of seeds,prevents fruit dropping
Eg :
Elongation of stem cells
prevents fruit dropping
Group gibberellins
Sources –germinating seeds
Embryo,stem and root tips Group gibberellins
Functions-germination of seeds,elongation of stem , list out the
Breaking down of stored food sources and
Sprouting of leaves functions
Group ethylene
Sources-produced in roots and diffuse to other parts
Functions –prevents cell division Group ethylene lists
Causes ripening of leaves and fruits out about it features

Sources-produced in mature leaves and diffuse to other Parts

Causes dropping of mature leaves and fruits out their roles
Helps in leaf formation

After that the teacher explains about each hormone .Then she gives the
activity sheets and asks them to fill it .

Teacher gives the activity card and explains about it suppose
five planthormonesare placedona roundcirculartable
ina clockwise direction.The hormonewhichplaysanimportantrole
in phototropismis placedinbetweenthe cytokininsand
the hormone involvedinfruitripening.The hormonewhich
is a plantgrowth inhibitorisplaced tothe leftof Ethylene.
The hormone whichproducedinthe germinatingseedsisplaced
to the rightof cytokinins.
Identifythe orderof placementandmarkedinthe circle givenbelow
Then the teacher explains the answers and asks review questions:

Teacher Says,Today we are going to learn in a different approach about plant pupil says yes Hormones. Presentation ACTIVITY-I Teacher explains that there are two types of hormones in plants pupil listens carefully They are Growth promoters Growth inhibitors Teacher divides the students into groups based on the hormone(card) obtained and ask them to disscuss about it .

Group auxins Group auxin lists out the sources and functions of hormone Group auxins list out Sources –germinating seeds ,stem tips ,root tips ,leaves , the sources and leaf buds functions Functions –role in the dominance of terminal bud Elongation of stem cells ,growth of lateral roots Role in phototropism Eg; Group cytokinins Sources –produced at the tip of roots and transport Group cytokinins through xylem list out the Functions-accelerating cell growth and cell division sources and functions Germination of seeds,prevents fruit dropping Eg : Elongation of stem cells prevents fruit dropping

Group gibberellins Sources –germinating seeds Embryo,stem and root tips Group gibberellins Functions-germination of seeds,elongation of stem , list out the Breaking down of stored food sources and Sprouting of leaves functions Group ethylene Sources-produced in roots and diffuse to other parts Functions –prevents cell division Group ethylene lists Causes ripening of leaves and fruits out about it features Group abscisic acid Sources-produced in mature leaves and diffuse to other Parts Functions-Prevents cell division and growth Abscisic acid lists Causes dropping of mature leaves and fruits out their roles Helps in leaf formation ripening of fruits
