Media products are all created with a specific audience in mind.

In pairs, compare your media consumption diaries.
• What are the similarities? We both spend a lot of individual time on media.
• What are the differences? There is a big difference between how long we spend consuming media.
• Is there anything you are surprised by? The interactive side of media isn’t used at all by this person.
• When did you consume the most media? Day? Time of day? I consumed the most on Monday with 70
minutes.
• Where do you consume the most media? At home? On your journey to and from school? I consumed
the most at home.
• Which platforms did you use? (does this vary depending on the media consumed – i.e.. iPod for
podcasts, Xbox for gaming, car stereo for radio listening) I used mainly my phone and the TV.
• What was your favourite medium? Social Media on my phone (snap chat, Instagram etc).
• Did you tend to consume media alone or with others? Alone.
• What was the primary function of the media consumed? Radio stations in the car.
• Were you surprised by the amount of media consumed? Not massively as I already assumed I spent a
