This document describes a bilingual family storytime program at a public library. The program uses bilingual books, Spanish songs and rhymes, and storytelling to promote early literacy and school readiness in both English and Spanish. A typical session includes an opening song, books read in both languages, movement songs, storytelling incorporating literacy skills, rhymes, closing song, and a parent-child activity. The program selects books translated into Spanish, English books with Spanish words, and uses Spanish songs and interactive stories to engage families.
