2. HOW MANY ADVERTISEMENTS
ARE THERE, IN EACH OF THE
PUBLICATIONS?
The first advertisement publication was on the inside of the
glossy, front page. This was ‘Halo Reach’ and lasted up to 4
full pages, covered with game clips and inside
photographing of what the new release looked like. The next
was a ¼ page, film advert for ‘Going The Distance’ placed
beside that was an album launch ‘Airport 85’, use the same
amount of space. ‘Stop Torture’ was placed underneath these
and used the remainder of the page (½). The following 3
advertisements, ‘Manic Street’, ‘Loftas’ and ‘Orange’ each
take up 1 full page.
3. FROM THE RESEARCH
I have found that the length of the advert various, depending
on the target audience. Although NME is a music magazine, it
also gets a lot of interest from consumers who have a
likeability for technology and interactional elements.
The small ads are covered over 2 double pages with a variety
of contrasting adverts e.g. KOKO/djtees.com. Majority of
them are gigs or concert tickets, but as they are placed at the
back of the magazine they don’t have as much importance as
those larger at the front.

TYPES OF ADVERTISEMENT
Through the use of a pie chart, I will show visually what types of advertisements there
are and how many of each are shown throughout this publication.
5. GRAPH WORK
In relation to how the magazine is divided – advertisement, listings and references – I
have used the format of a graph to show it.
