2. Making choices We all want our kids to grow to be happy, independent, healthy adults. PDHPE is about teaching kids to make good life choices. They will learn about: Eating well. Moving regularly. Building strong relationships. And many other things!
3. Relevant every day! PDHPE is about things we do every day as human beings. It isn’t a once a week subject- it’s about teaching good habits, and that means practicing them daily, not just during allocated PDHPE time. This means promoting: Healthy lunches and canteens. Daily physical activity. Positive relationships in the classroom, playground and at home
4. Integrated into Curriculum Teachers have so much to teach, and so little time. Luckily, PDHPE classes also include skills and achieve outcomes from other KLA’s, like Literacy, Numeracy, Science and Technology, and Creative and Performing Arts. Plus, tools like this PDHPE wiki also help to integrate Information Communication Technology into the classroom.
5. And above all, FUN! PDHPE gives kids a chance to be kids. They can play games and have FUN, while learning important physical and social skills: moving, decision making, problem solving, communicating and interacting. Kids who have these skills will be confident and happy as they move into adolescence.
