2. A business meeting in which I participated
where the goals were not reached
• I remember a particular one, it wasn´t a business meeting but an university
issue, we had to do an activity by groups so we met to talk about what we
had to do, however, at the meeting, we didn´t do anything about the work,
we made jokes and we ate, at the end we stay for four hours and we did less
than a half of the topics we stablished at the beginning of the meeting, it
was a disaster.
3. Three effective tips to avoid problems
experienced in a business meeting
• Stablish an hour to start and one to finish the meeting.
• Use a five minutes bell.
• Review the list of topics at the end.
4. Stablish an hour to start and one to finish the
meeting
• When we are planned to have an effective meeting, you should stablish a start hour,
because people could arrive at any time they want and sometimes chat and talk
about other things that are not important for the meeting. Is important to put an
off-hour time for example 8:10 instead of 8:00, because sometimes people arrives at
8:00 o´clock and need time to get there, the same for the lunch time, put the
meeting minutes later than 2:00 for example, that could help to start punctual.
• Also, put an hour to finish the meeting because people could start talking about
other things that are not important, and the meeting could get longer and longer.
5. Use a five minutes bell
• Talk about the topics you stablished for the meeting and when someone
strayed from the topics use like the “five minutes bell” of the video, ring it
and come back to the topics of the meeting.
6. Review the list of topics at the end
• At the end, review the list of the topics of the meeting and check if you talk
about all of them and ask if they´re clear or there are questions or someone
don´t get it.
