My unique mix of previous work experience and current status as a junior studying Finance at the University of
Washington – Milgard School of Business, makes me an ideal candidate for any internship in the Business industry.
As a student, I am continuing to enhance my understanding of business management, finance, and marketing
through hard work shown by exceptional grades in related course work. Throughout my education I have obtained skills
in effectively managing time and completion of tasks in individual and group projects, allocating and balancing
departmental funds while maintaining low overhead costs, and presenting new ideas for organizations marketing
campaigns and business processes through in-depth research of both internal and external driving factors. From the
courses listed on my resume I have expanded my knowledge and experience in Business and Finance by the
comprehensive study of topics such as: ethical decision making, strategic planning, human resource planning and hiring
processes, supply chain management, the accounting cycle, payroll and tax accounting; contract, labor, and corporate
responsibility laws; managing cash flows, evaluating the time value of money, possible economic consequences of
business decisions, and working capital management.
Additionally, I have acquired technical experience by utilizing different software applications to assist in research
and analysis, visual graphic presentation modeling, and software programming. Some relevant applications include: Gretl,
used to perform statistical data analysis, Excel and Access to create and run reports and queries on a variation of company
data sets,Excel VBA Developer for programming functional models using system coding logic, and PowerPoint and Prezi
for creating visual presentation aids for recommendations based on prior research. Occasionally I temp for a law firm
close to campus where I have become familiar with ProLaw software for data-entry and have working knowledge of
Quickbooks Pro for customer/client account management.
If given the opportunity to obtain and internship I believe my enthusiasm and resourcefulness would make me a
great asset to any Department. As an individual I thrive on attaining new knowledge as well as learning new skills while
continuously seeking ways to take on larger projects and more responsibilities. I am sure that it would be worthwhile for
us to meet. I look forward to future correspondence to see if management and department staff agree that my
qualifications are a match for the particular internship opportunity. I hope we are able to schedule an interview at a
mutually convenient time.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Kaitlyn Krug
