In simple words frequency is number of occurrences per unit time
Frequency, f = 1/T
(T= Time period)
Example in practical aspects:
 Say the milk delivery boy is visiting your house every morning at a fix time then frequency is 1
per day
 To a patient, doctor prescribe medicines 3 times a day i.e. frequency is 3 per day
 An Engine is running 6000 rpm then frequency is 6000/60=100 rps or 100 Hz.
