2. Hemiptera are known as true bugs, is
a large and diverse order with
80,000 species in 37 families found
all over the World that may be
terrestrial or freshwater habitator.
The most important feature of this
order is their stylet within the
modified labium with rostrum.
Most of the hemipterans are
herbivorous while a few are
predators, fungivorous and parasites.
They help man in production of
carmine, a dye stuff, while
Dactylopius coccus produce
carminic acid that prevent predators.

3. Drugs: The honey bee produces different products like bee wax, royal jelly,
propolis and bee venom.
The sting of honey bee is used as a medication for arthritis and rheumatism.
Bee venom is used to cure hypertension, asthma, pre menstrual syndrome,
hearing and headache.
Bee wax is used by industries in making of candles, soaps, cosmetics and sealing
wax.

4. Royal jelly is used as a medicine for treatment of human influenza, high
blood pressure and respiratory infections.
Nuisance insects are used as diet for human and pests also.
Corixidaes feeds on algae thus helps in its control.
Chinese use cicadas as deep dried food.

5. Predators, parasites and
parasitoids feeds on large
number of injurious insects. Ex:-
the ladybird beetle feeds on
aphids which infect cotton
plants.
Some insects provide natural
population control of other
insects, arthropoda and
vertebrates.

6. Weed management:- The insects feed on weed plants and are thus
beneficial as they destroy noxious weeds.
Some insects which are used as food by human and animals are insect
pollinators.

7. Nearly 1/3 of the world's crop
protection depends directly or
indirectly on insects for pollination.
Ex:- Bumblebee, Solitary bee, Squash
bee, etc.

helps in control or reduction of Acacia
cyclops (weed) and also control of
pests and predators.
