Plastic Beach is an album
released by the band Gorillaz,
created in 1998 by Damon Albarn
and Jamie Hewlett. The “virtual
Band” consists of four animated
members that are involved in a
fictional universe showed in the
band’s music videos. Plastic
Beach is the band’s 3rd studio
album release. The album cover
shows an island with various
features such as a lighthouse,
plam trees and a large building at
the top of the hill. The font of the
writing has been chosen to suit
the theme of the beach and sea, as
it is wavy. The Island shown on the
album cover is seen in the music
video for the single Melancholy
Hill as well as three of the
animated characters looking at it.
Also in the album cover on the right
hand side in the sea we can see a
sub marine, this is also featured in
the music video of Melancholy Hill,
so plays in with the animated
universe of the four band
characters. The advert has been
made to get straight to the point by
simply showing their album cover
and telling readers that it is out
now.
