5. For 2012; the two production companies are incredibly well known, with Columbia pictures being a lot
more recognised around the world than centropolis entertainment. When Columbia pictures is
producing a film, it is almost a certainty that the film will become very well known, due to the wide array
of countries who watch films produced by this company. Centropolis entertainment is not too well
known around the world, although the company has become very well known for producing films such
as; white house down, independence day and obviously 2012.
The production companies for Shaun of the dead are not too well known, because they are not in the
elite category of film production, although both companies have produced some top calibre films, which
have topped box-offices and been awarded numerous awards. Working title is owned by universal
studios, so although it doesn’t get the accolade’s that universal get, it is quite well known due to the very
successful films they have produced. Studio Canal is less well known, maybe because it was only
founded in 1988, but they are gradually becoming more popular, due to the great films they are
producing.

6. The huge difference from both films was the amount of money they had at their
disposal, Shaun of the dead was limited because the budget was $6 million,
although 2012 could have anything they wanted, whether it was top class actors,
exhilarating effects, or costly props. When looking at the amount of money spent
on the cast; 2012 completely outspends Shaun of the Dead, therefore you would
expect a really good film. Many people looking at the statistics would expect 2012
to be miles better, although this is not the case as mainly every review rates Shaun
of the dead better. Another huge difference is the amount of money in the box-
office, this is because 2012 was produced by Columbia pictures, who as a company
are so well known. They also a huge amount of money to advertise it, whereas
Shaun of the Dead didn’t have this.

7. Both films made very good money in box office, with Shaun of
the dead making $30 million and 2012 making of $550
million. Both films have appeared on sky movies after being
shown in cinemas around the world.
